"All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renenwed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king"

We rented a small house on the central coast of California. Quiet, relaxing and some fun hiking.

Did you update it yet? Looks the same to me.

I have to give a thumbs down on the Toyo Proxys they do not grip as well as the stock GoodYears and squeal like crazy on painted lane markers or slick concrete. I scare pedestrians in parking lots as I turn into a parking stall <Edit> 04Chase got me thinking, so I tried pumping them up even more, to 45 psi, and they are behaving much better. Still a bit squeally, but nowhere near as bad. Perhaps I will try 50 psi and see how that works.

Overall, it is clean and easy to work, but... On the home page, the picture of the building is too dark. It helps to have a calibrated monitor. I bumped up the brightness on this version and it looks much more inviting.. I run my text size at 125% (eyes are getting older) so this might be a the cause, but you have a problem at the top and bottom of this page. Try going to Control Panel, Display, Settings Tab, Advanced button. Change your DPI settings to 120 dpi (reboot, of course) and view your website. http://www.tristatelinex.com/undercover.htm Also, once I am down into one of these pages, there are no navigation buttons to get back home or up a level. I have to use the Back button. No email option in "Contact us"?

"void the warranty" is a poor description of what can happen. The dealer can tell you that the problem is not covered due to installation of aftermarket equipment. But they need to have a plausible connection there. They can't disallow coverage for leaky rear windows because of a supercharger (well, unless you were hitting 200+ mph and the windows sucked out ) . But if your transmission fails then you might have an issue, and would depend on the dealer.

Well, Jesus was a carpenter, so it would make sense to have a work truck with a tool box in the bed. Personally, I think he would drive an SS with a Radix to back up his claim "Behold, I come quickly" (Revelation 22:7)

Not really an option out here. Aside from the fact that it would never pass it's emmissions test next year (and every other year there after), I am in favor clean air. The LA basin can get pretty smoggy, and those cats help do their part. Besides, with option 3, I can have my performance cake, and clean air too Thought about that. But.... This is the option I am like so far. Random Technology makes some metal matrix high flow cats that will be clean, stand up better to the higher temps the supercharger dishes out and cost a heck of a lot less than the Chevy dealers plan.

Well, this just gets more fun all the time. It seems the wonderful laws of the Socialist Republic of California have me in a bit of a bind. The only legal replacement for my catalytic converters are the GM parts, no wonder they wanted $1400, they have the only game in town. There are plenty of good replacement cats, but none are CARB certified for my truck. So, I can get replacements that are technically illegal, but will still clean up the exhaust just as good, flow better and cost less or go back to GM. OK, so that is a no-brainer. I have never had a smog check where they looked under the car, and even if they did, I don't think they would be able to tell the difference. As long as it cleans the smog up, they don't seem to get very nosey.

Well, if I have to go aftermarket, I sure hope somebody makes them (CARB approved) for such a new vehicle. Most listings only go up to 2001.

I have been getting a DTC code popping up for the last year or so P0430 Engine controller ($10) - - - - - - C - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2) I had it checked by the GM dealer that installed the Super Charger, and they said it would be a warranty item, but a Chevy dealer had to do it. Lately, it has been keeping the Check Engine light on all the time, so with 49k miles on the odometer, I finally am took it down to the dealer. No surprise, they said both cats were bad, denied coverage, and blamed the supercharger. They said it was $1400 to replace them (no thanks). So I called the 800 number to try and challenge it. While I suppose it is possible that the supercharger could be to blame, I find it hard to believe, when nobody else with a Radix has reported any issues like this, and Magnuson said it should not happed due to the super charger. About the only things 'funny' that happened in my case, were the initial use without the intercooler pump working because the fuse was not installed and apparently I was running with a 'Beta' tune for a couple years. Part of the fun of being one of the first, I guess. Anybody know any good ways to influence the warranty process? or failing that, some good high flow aftermarket cats?

I wonder how easy it scratches on the sand?

If you have a Radix, this is where the boost line hooks up. The big rubber grommit: Close up. The whitish line is the boost line. I used (carefully) an ice pick to pilot a hole and then a coat hanger to pull the wires through. A little windex helps lube things as you pull through the sticky rubber. The inside view. The Red, Blue and Whiteish lines are heading to the grommit. : If you are doing a pillar mount, run the wires through the fuse panel area and then snake between the dash and pillar.

I am not sure I want any codes stored in my seat module Geez there is a whole computer just for the seats? I need to get a service manual one of these days. Not having a wiring diagram is bugging me.

If you send the graphic to me via email, I would be glad to host it.
