  1. Chuck will get you taken care of, K. Honestly though, with as much power as you are pounding out, it's time for an 80. A lot of things go on in there. My last failure was caused by the sprag turning over (nothing Chuck or anyone can do about that), which then built up heat in the tranny and took out a bunch of stuff. I'm willing to bet that the hole you see isn't a cause, but a result. Get it up there to Chuck and let him dig in In any case, the fact the Chuck honors his warrantee regardless of your hp level, says a lot. He'll get you back on the road.
  2. Boat/car hauler <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You've got great taste in cars man!
  3. Down here a pop is a guy at least 30 years older than you, or your dad.
  4. On PT.net, a GM tech posted the required torque on NBS truck lugs was 140 ft/lbs. He gave no reference for this number, however, and knowing Steve, he's got one...
  5. Ah nice. I'm in Oviedo. XGMTech is in Sanford ;)
  6. my pleasure man Keep me posted as you get it together!
  7. John at Speartech can handle the harness for you. If you are willing to go to a manual t-case, the swap is pretty easy (just changing to 4wd involves sliding under the truck ). You will also need your tranny section of the OS flashed.
  8. That could be real fun -- especially with a 3" chop
  9. I have to agree on this one... My wifes from the south and damn we can go through some sugar for some sweet tea... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Brown sugar too I bet ;)
  10. Yeah, they don't bolt straight up with the bt hangers, but it only requires a little cutting to fix ;) Or you can send 'em to Calvert and for $75-100 or so they will notch them and repowder coat them (I just painted it) I think CTs would help an AWD truck with traction problems. Most of the lost traction I saw was from getting too much front lift and then spinning the fronts, then rears (was pretty cool actually -- wish I had some video). I was planning on strapping my front axle like Parish did and then adding CTs if still needed, but then I switched to 2wd anyway...
  11. Oh and #16: If someone offers you tea, it's sweet. Don't you dare ask for unsweetened ;P
  12. Amen. I love to hear: "And you sugar?" "I'll have a coke." "Sure thing baby. What kind?" "Coke." "Comin' up, hon."
  13. Cold front in Florida....... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah it got down to 97* Question for you S FL guys. Does Moroso still prep the whole track every night or have they fallen into the FL thing of no track prep at all unless its an NHRA weekend, and then only the front 1/8th?
  14. You will have a lot of fun. You might look for an 01-03 Z06 (probably close to the same price, and night and day more fun). Are you in Orlando (or named Orlando?)
  15. We need to get this guy hooked up with Hennesy. They can help each other out in customer relations :jest:
  16. More power to ya, man. I honestly hope you make it. BTW, I'm not at odds with Rev because he likes ATI. I do too -- go read my review of prochargers in the sticky. Personally, I'd run them over Vortech every day out of every week. I'm at odds with Rev because he tends to bash STS with things he considers to be "facts" that are actually nothing but opinion (and unfounded, uneducated to the reality of the situation opinions at that) based on the tiny filter of only looking at "facts" that support his ideas.
  17. It's not the last line of retreat. It is the truth. Why can't they post at SS.com? If they are so proud of it get it up over here. Send the guys over who want to spank.. I really wish they would come up it would be good for the forum to have some more guys other than radix'd trucks. The bottom line is no one here has posted any fast times with a sts kit. Fast meaning.. no one here is even talking about challenging azfastestss with his vortech blown truck. I would love to get down with anyone with an STS kit. I am going to be naturally asperated next weekend at the M-11 event again with a new tune and trans shooting for 12's NA mind you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> John runs N20 and a Vortech, not just a vortech. Show me the STS run with n2o that is slower than Johns. We certainly don't want to mention Quicksilverado's time that's within a 10th of John's N2O+SC runs on turbo alone, or 8ALTNG's times with an STS and a 4.8 in an ECSB that are within .6 of John's N2O+SC times, and faster than his SC only time... Why do they have to post here to be fast? We don't have anything to prove to you or anyone else. it is only the truth according to your set of rules and in your little microcosm. Then, you gotta ask yourself... Why should they post here? Just so guys like you can pick it apart and discount their accomplishments because they disprove your claims? you know where there times are, go look. Oh right, we don't want to know about the fast ones because they refute our claims and clearly show STS kits work just as well, if not better, than other apples-to-apples options. Unfortunately, this site has more than adequately proved itself to by anti-STS, and that's the plain truth, starting way back when there were three of us prototyping kits for STS. Instead of supporting the board members that went to a GTG and ran their trucks, both were pretty much ridiculed (and neither one posts here anymore), even the one who did not let the ribbing goad him into turning up the boost too much for his tune and breaking some pistons... Instead of celebrating advances and accomplishments during tuning runs or even shakedown runs, those things are touted as "proof" that the kits don't work. Honestly, you have a very inflated sense of self-worth if you think anyone cares what you think about STS. I'm only posting here to make sure open minded people who really want to know, have their questions answered by someone who has the knowledge and direct experience to actually ANSWER FACTUALLY.
  18. This is probably the infamous SS false KR caused by tranny shifting noise, but it would pay to check it out. Run some high octane and see if it goes away. If it doesn't search for "false knock" We had a lot of discussion about 1.5 years ago or so (and found out how to tune it out -- which I don't remember anymore ;))
  19. Don't even sweat it Chp. That line is just the last retreat of everyone who is threatened by STS. They like to ignore all the trucks who post their times on PT.net and flat out spank them and pull up old problem runs / first runs from the guys who used to post here as if they mean something and then compare them to perfect / best runs from themselves or their favorite fast guy. It's really funny though, when they use Makani's run on a proven bad tune, running a cam with so much overlap he broke the motor down after the run and changed cams, and a few other problems I don't even remember, and it's still over half a second faster than their time.
  20. I'd say you definitely want a GT67, an intercooler, 44# injectors, a fuel pump (intank, 255lph), dual boost controller (depending on what boost you want, they have 2 varieties, I went 5-15psi just in case, and given my current set up, don't regret it at all ), and get a local dyno tuner to give you a solid FI tune. STS got carb certified a year or two ago, but talking to them as Rev suggests is a good idea. They can probably recommend a local installer if you want to go that way, and a local tuner.
  21. Are you going to threaten to beat me up next? BTW, you can have the last word if it means so much I'm only playing with you at this point because PT.net is sloooooow.
  22. Yeah it is -- I'd love to know if this one is legit. And if it is, where I can get a dvd lol.
