  1. They have a bunch of different ones on there, but I was just wondering what flow rate would be best?
  2. I have a aftercooled vortech system on my ss and the waterpump went bad on it. I called vortech and they want like 170.00 for a new one, but I was wondering if you guys had a suggestion for an aftermarket one that I could buy that would be cheaper. Thanks for the help.
  3. That is what confuses me. There was no light or anything. I am thinking it was just one of those freak things.
  4. That is what I thought, but the truck went 120 miles or so before it happened.

    Autotap

I am going to order the autotap software for my truck from tbyrne and I was wondering if I can get by with just the generic codes or should i spend the extra $100 and get the gm parameters?
  6. I just put a new flt level 5 tranny in my truck. I haven't driven it for a couple of months because I was trying to get the money together. Today I was driving back to my house and the truck out of the blue sputtered a little bit and then died. I started back up and it was idling rough and when I would give the truck gas, it wouldn't move and the engine was idling rough. I finally got the truck pulled off to a safe spot and let it sit for a while and started it up and it ran fine. I looked for low fluid levels or anything else and everything was fine. I couldn't see any other problems in the around the engine. There is no cel and the truck is running fine now. I drove the truck about 120 miles before it happened. Sorry for the novel, but I was just wondering if anyone had any idea. It was raining fairly hard and I was wondering if maybe some moiature could have caused the maf to throw the ecu off or something like that. I am not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I have a 2 way spread spectrum compustar and I love it. I am pretty sure that by the time a guy even got the door open, I would be greeting him with a kick to the chin. It helps too that I have shaved handles. I am looking into getting a glass shatter sensor also. The backup siren is a must have too.
  8. Got the belt on, but it is loose. Need a new tensioner. Is anyone using one besides a dayco, or are they the only ones that make one for our truck?
  9. My belt spun off the other day and I am getting a new one later today and it is cold out and I was wondering what the easiest and fastest way to put a new one on is. I always have trouble with the tensioner.
  10. Good to know, it might be coincidental, but if that tranny is going bad, that will be the third one in two years. I guess my next question would be, does anyone know of a good tranny shop in Minnesota?
  11. no, i told them not to touch it. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Zippy any thoughs???
  12. I checked the levels, they are fine. There was no chance for a joyride, I watched the whole thing. I took it to a local oil change place that has did it before. I usually do it but it is just to cold and my garage isn't heated.
  13. I got my oil changed tonight and before i got it done, my tranny was shifting hard and working good. After the oil change, there was a noticeable difference in my tranny performance. There was not a hard shift from first to second and it didn't like WOT. Does anyone have any ideas of what may have caused this???
  14. that is what i think too, but why now. I have had my truck for over three years now and put an aftermarket stereo in at the same time. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
