  1. The only reason im concerned about the rear is because next summer its coming down. And i hope it doesnt effect my drop when i put it on it and not get me where i wanna be.

If you would like I can take measurements off my truck or you can check my truck as I live in Indy.

I'm on the north side (71st & Meridian)

I have 2" drop shackles (6400 Belltech) and turned down torsion bars (5 turns) & realigned it. First mods I did to it back in 2004.

    Let me know

  2. Mine is a DD. Just got back from Pittsburgh, PA. 800+ miles. Loaded with our stuff and 18 cases of Yuengling and some other beers in the bed. 75+ MPH and still got over 15 MPG. I'm sure i could have gotten better mileage as I've gotten as high as 18 MPG on road trips, no load and driving posted limits. But the horse always runs faster towards the barn. cheers.gif

A couple of weeks ago, built a patio with pavers and used it to haul supplies for that project. Have had workers comment about putting stuff in the back. Always load and unload from the back, never the sides.

Out with my Dad (83 years old and not a car guy) on this trip and had to whack it to get over a lane. My Dad's

comment was "Wow, what kind of horsepower does this thing have?" That made my day.

It's still a truck, and can be used as one. I actually like taking road trips in it because it's so damn comfortable, damn the gas mileage.

  3. Can anybody beat this guy as far as join date? After reading this thread how they were complaining how the site died back in 07 lol if only they knew what it looked like these days.even back when I joined I thought it was poping

Bob47,Imposstor SS, detjoe, vdrumright and zippy all been around since 2003. All from Michigan. Great guys. Met them at the infamous Zippy event held in Grand Haven,MI. Ahh the old days!!!!!

  4. Old timers roll call.. Who is still around and do you still have your SS?

I still have mine and have 177,000 miles on it.

    Damn Vince,

I was talking to Bob or Stewart earlier this year (can't remember) and your name came up.

We were wondering if you still had the truck and how you were doing.

    Hope all is well

Still have mine with 82,000 on the clock, still with an Uncle Vince e-fan harness

  5. I just did the 2005-2007 rotors,calipers & pads.

I used Raybestos rotors, calipers & Akebono pads.

Pleased with the results and the price wasn't bad

    $277.49 + tax

    FRC11713 right caliper w/bracket

    FRC11714 left caliper w/bracket

    $36.40 ea. w/ exchange

    580279 Rotors

    $65.00 ea

    Akebono ACT1092 (O.E. supplier GMT 800-900)

    $74.69

I went this way because the truck is a DD and I wanted an improvement

using O.E. parts that can be purchased anywhere and affordable.

    All bolt on no modifications

The braking is improved, less fade, better pedal feel.

    Already had SS brake lines.

I won't use drilled rotors on a DD as I've seen too many cracked rotors on

cars/trucks with them. Slotted only rotors work well if you don't mind the price.

Hope this helps whatever you decide.

  6. Better late than never to get a response......I cant say 100% but I attended the Power Tour in Muskegon, MI. I saw a few TBSS's but not a single SIlverado.

There was a Victory Red SSS w/ graphics from Idaho. Talked to them @ the Holiday Inn in Spring Lake.

We were in the Camaro again.

Lindsey, wish we knew you were in town. Maybe next year as they are hitting Muskegon again. Euchre anyone? cheers.gif

  7. Got 48 out of 48 right.

Couple were SWAG (scientific wild ass guess)

    Willys Aero Wing/ Kaiser Manhattan

    Desoto Firedome/ Chrysler New Yorker

Old age does have it's advantage, just can't recall when.....

  8. Guys,

Have a great time and drink one for me cheers.gif

I thought I might be able to make it, but I have a funeral to attend Saturday

    (brother-in-law, cancer, 59 years old)

I will make it to Pittsburgh sometime this summer to see my dad, so I'll bring some back with me then.

Not quite the same as a tour of "America's Oldest Brewery" but the beer is still good.thumb.gif

I'll drink one Saturday afternoon with a toast to everyone in attendance beer3.gif
