1. Anyone watch the Bud Shootout? Wild race with an even wilder finish. I don't care whether you like Kyle Busch or not. That man can flat out DRIVE!!! :peelout:

He's the closest thing to Dale Sr. out of the younger generation of drivers as far as driving talent.

Now if he could buy a personality idiot.gif

  2. this has helped me tremendously. I was looking at twice the price on OEM Delcos, and you have saved me Hot Rod. Thank you for the PN's and your experience, I dont want or need slotted rotors for the same reason.

I just need to double check that these are 13 inch rotors up front. Thanks to your info my truck will be on the road within a month or two compared to mid summer. And I havent driven since 2008. I sat in the cab today just dreaming when I can drive it again.

    Thank you sir. :pepsicheer:

More than happy to help as I've been helped by others on here as well. thumb.gif

You can go to www.raybestos.com and use the online catalog and verify the rotors are correct with images and specs. 56825 rotors are O.E. on AWD SSS trucks. You should be able to buy the parts at or about the prices I listed.

I recommend changing to the later calipers/pads rather than changing the bracket only. The pedal feel /effort is much better. Bigger pad, caliper, rotor = better brakes for a little bit more than replacing the stock parts

  3. I just did the 2005-2007 rotors,calipers & pads.

I used Raybestos rotors, calipers & Akebono pads.

Pleased with the results and the price wasn't bad

    $277.49 + tax

    FRC11713 right caliper w/bracket

    FRC11714 left caliper w/bracket

    $36.40 ea. w/ exchange

    580279 Rotors

    $65.00 ea

    Akebono ACT1092 (O.E. supplier GMT 800-900)

    $74.69

I went this way because the truck is a DD and I wanted an improvement

using O.E. parts that can be purchased anywhere and affordable.

    All bolt on no modifications

The braking is improved, less fade, better pedal feel.

    Already had SS brake lines.

I won't use drilled rotors on a DD as I've seen too many cracked rotors on

cars/trucks with them. Slotted only rotors do work well if you don't mind the price.

Hope this helps whatever you decide.

  4. It's almost that time of year again. February 26th 1:00 P.M.

Bob47 won last year, Bill (billws6?) second. Hope to get more members to participate this year and make it through 36 races.

Bob or I will put up reminders here to keep everyone in the loop when it's time to re-choose drivers for each segment.

    Let's go racin, boys

  5. I was waiting to see what you'd say Brian. You really gonna let me off that easy? :jester:

No MAN PEDAL=Girly Man biggrinjester.gif I figure this is insulting enoughcrackup.gif

Yes, it's Inferno Orange. Looks really good in the sun if you like orange. Lots of mods planned but all for the SSS now that I don't have to drive it everyday.

    What ya' got planned?

  6. Nice Bob,

    Is that Inferno Orange Metallic?

I figured you would get one with a man pedal for the ultimate go-kart experience.driving.gif

Any mods planned? I understand Pedders already has tooled up some suspension goodies for them.

I have to say that I do like them and may pick one up to replace the Grand Prix when the time comes thumb.gif

  7. Yeah how many iches you got in rear from top of rim to fender well? Also in front from top of rim to fender well? Also do you have a tonnuea cover, bed rug, tow package, spare tire in back? Im wondering cause i have all that which is weighing mine down a bit.

From the wheel lip to the bottom of the fender center 8" front, 8 1/2" rear.

Truck is full weight with spare and hitch and a Roll-N-Lock tonneau cover.

My cover may be a little lighter than yours.

I would say you are stock with a possible torsion bar adjustment by the previous owner to level the truck after the tonneau cover install
