  2. Well...I was washing my truck yesterday, and as I started to detail my wheels to remove any overspray from the tire dressing I applied, I was shocked to see that the paint/clear coat on my factory rims has begun to flake and chip off around the inner diameter of the very outside lip next to the tire! I couldn't believe it! I have ABSOLUTELY not caught a rim on a curb or anything else abrasive. As proof, there are no discernible scratches on the wheel edges or anywhere else near the 2-3 areas on each wheel (3 total with problem) where this is happening. This truck has less than 3k miles and I have NEVER used anything but Armor-All Tire Foam enywhere near the wheels. No Westley's, no Brake dust or caustic "tire cleaner", nothing at all. Also, in a few small areas, you can see where the paint is "scalloped" near the wheel edge, but has not yet completely come off. The areas are about 1/4 inch in depth by approx. 3/8 in length, all longitudinal with the circular edge of the wheel. Has anyone else experienced this?!!!
  3. Thanks for the reply vdrumright and supraman! You guys are a credit to the forum!
  4. Well, let me start out by saying that I LOVE my truck! But...there have been a few "incidents". For starters, a metal piece broke off of one side of the bottom of the drivers side windshield wiper, and in the process scratched the hell out of the plastic cowl piece below the windshield while "wiping". End result, new wiper arm and cowl piece. (yes warranties are wonderful!) Next, I'm not too happy with the "rippled" door cladding issue a lot of us have been experiencing. I don't think I want to go to the trouble to have them replace it, especially if it is just a design defect and the new pieces will do the same thing...I'm still considering my options. Finally, 80% of the time on startup (warm only) I have about a half second of REAL nasty sounding pre-ignition (engine knock). I grit my teeth every time it happens. Had it to the dealer and they said that they couldn't duplicate the problem! This, I AM concerned about. Looking for solutions BTW if anyone reads this... In any event, it's still an awesome truck, but the experience so far hasn't been entirely worry free. Oh and by the way, you could fry eggs on my seatback also, and the bottom of the seat is only half as hot. Maybe this is normal ARRGGHH! I swear the little things can sometimes drive you crazy!
