  1. SOLD It was lots of fun, just need something with a little more suspension. Local guy bought it to use as a daily. He loves it. Thanks for great technical info. I'll come back and visit occasionally. Have a 2500HD with an 8.1/Allison now.
  2. Run a tank top tier gas in it. I've seen it correct drivability issues (no code issues). Won't hurt and doesn't cost very much.
  3. Have personally seen a silver and a red '07 truck. They are very few and far between.
  4. Who's the exhaust mfg. And, how loud is it?
  5. Anyone looking for a NICE BLACK SSS, this one looks good. I don't know the truck, just came across it. https://jackson.craigslist.org/cto/d/2004-chevrolet-silverado-ss/6746273904.html My red, AWD, loaded '05 is still for sale also.
  6. Let me know if you can't find your prized Blue, and will settle for Red. Mines still for sale. I'm in no hurry. Good luck!
  7. Basics... look at air filter, vacuum leaks. (plug wires), etc. Might very well be cats. Get under the truck and bang around on them with your hand or rubber mallet. Usually they will rattle if they're bad. Let us know what you find, we'll all need the troubleshooting help sooner or later!
  8. I been told running a NP149 equipped vehicle with the front drive shaft removed will smoke the viscous coupling.Glad yours is OK. Impressive #'s!
  9. Welcome! Good luck on your search. What's the problem with the AWD? There's so many smart people here that are willing to help!
  10. Updated with asking price and more details. Pass the word.
  11. If he's not dead-set on black, my red one's available...

I think they went the way of the Dodo. Our trucks are getting old....but really cool! Mine won't be on the list. It got a tune. That's all it's going to get.
  13. How did you dyno an AWD on a RWD dyno? Just wondering...
  14. I know how you feel. I've only had mine for 7 months. I'm attached, but it's for sale too.
  15. THIS WEEK: Got a new windshield (cracked). Shined her up. Conditioned the leather. Replaced rear jounce bumpers with new GM ones.
  16. It's an awesome, head turning, beast looking truck. It's a rocking' ride! Does all the showy stuff well. I love it, just need something with a little more butt!
  17. Food for the trolls..... :-) If you look at the curb weight of the SS truck and the advertised GVW, the half ton truck will (should) haul a lot more than 1/2 ton (1,000#). I load the 1/2 ton trucks at work every day to maximum GVW (plus), and they handle a 2,000# payload with relative ease, that doesn't make them a one ton truck. Right now, my 2500HD work truck (3/4 ton, 1,500#) has a 3,000# engine in the back with 1.5" between the axle and the bump stop. That doesn't mean it's ton-and-a-half truck. It does mean it will haul the advertised payload, plus a lot to spare. Chevrolet flat out lied to the public, as they were trying to make their SS truck look more appealing than the competition (Ram SRT10 and the Ford Lightning), when it comes to "work". While Dodge and Ford accurately lowered their GVW rating on their "sport" trucks, Chevy didn't. The factory lowered suspension, will not haul a load, like their regular (non lowered) suspension. I'm not a nubie, I do trucks for a living. I assume full responsibility for not doing my homework, and actually testing a SSS before buying it, to haul an occasional "light" load. Buyers remorse, I should have never sold the Dodge! If I just wanted a "pretty", I would just cruised around Sundays in my 1965 Malibu SS.
  18. 2005 AWD Victory Red, loaded, polished wheels, tow package, very rare sunroof. All stock except Pioneer radio (a stock radio goes with truck), and a custom tune. Always a southern truck. Near perfect. 102K miles. Always garaged. Consider a partial trade for a southern, NICE, Chevy/GMC, 1500HD or 2500HD, crew/extended, 2/4WD, loaded. Inbox me for more info. I can txt/email you pictures or FaceTime you for a live video walk-around/test drive. Listed on eBay and craigslist for $19K. Cash talks! Memphis, TN area.
  19. It’s for sale if you’re serious.
  20. I had a Dodge Diesel, and thought I didn't need it. Only making "occasional" hauling trips...surely a muscular beast like the SSS would be up to the task.....NOT!
  21. I've had rebuilt title vehicles in the past. Had Safeco Ins. at the time. Never an issue getting them insured. only problem would be, if you had a wreck. I'm sure they would LOW-BALL you in the event of a total loss.....
  22. That's exactly what I experienced.....
  23. Posted in another forum. Need you guys input! Just got back from a 750 mile trip with 1,700# in the back of the SSS. THIS TRUCK IS A WIMP! Put a load in the bed (evenly distributed, front/rear) and the rear suspension was on the jounce bumpers. Every bump smashed the bumpers. After about 100 miles, there was no "thump" on bumps, but a "bang" (no more rubber left, metal-to-metal). Braking was downright dangerous. While replacing the jounce bumpers today, and noticed a shock leaking (blew it out!). Rear shocks have overload springs built on them. Is this stock on the SSS with the Z82 heavy duty towing package? Any shock recommendations? I'm afraid my "trophy" truck (sits in the garage weeks at a time) will have to have a new owner, if it can't earn it's keep, hauling a load every once in a while. Towing the open trailer and race car (6,000#), put it on the jounce bumpers on every bump, with only 500# tongue weight. My son's 1/2 ton Suburban tows WAY better. I was hoping (based on factory published specs) this truck would do menial labor, but it appears I have a "snowflake"! Be on the look-out for a for sale ad coming in the near future. Someone's going to get a primo SSS..
