  1. Hey everyone. I purchased this truck a couple of months ago and thought I would post the updates here instead of starting my own thread. So far since owning the truck I have installed a Volant cold air intake with the ram air scoop, and I have just redone the entire exhaust with Speed Engineering 1 7/8 headers, 2.5" stainless pipes, Magnaflow straight through mufflers, magnaflow stainless X pipe, with two 3" tips exiting right before the passenger rear tire. I also had the Blackbear efi scan tool tune to go along with these mods and fix a solenoid code that the stall converter was causing. The drivers side header bolt was broken off in the block and I ended up taking the fender off in order to get a good drilling angle so I could retap it. It's all good now though. I don't have any pictures of the headers or intake on hand but I'm sure everyone's seen them before. I plan on doing electric fans next and upgrading the heads and adding a bigger cam. I haven't done much reading on head upgrades but I think I have decided to go with the Texas Speed 228R cam to go with the 3200 stall.
  2. Thanks! These will work.
  3. When I bought my SS it had some style of projector flood lights under the door that said "SS" on them. The ones in my door currently are starting to fade out, almost like the SS is a sticker and it's starting to peel off or burn off. I had an extra one when I bought my truck and took it apart to look and see what was making the logo. It looks like a plastic lens with a clear SS logo. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get more of these lights or lenses so I can replace them?
  4. Thanks man I hope that is the case. It's came back on today so may let the battery sit unhooked for a while and see what happens.
  5. I've had my SS for about a week, and have put around 1,100 miles on it. This past Friday, and today I've had the check engine light be thrown for a "Shift Solenoid B stuck" I did not write down the PO number but I will if it throws it again. The truck seems to drive and shift fine to me with no slippage. It is my understanding that this truck has a Trans-Go HD shift kit with the .500 boost valve also, along with the Corvette 2-4 servo and billet overdrive from PATC. I was reading on here where if there is a higher stall in the torque converter than it may throw the code. The truck does have a PI Vignette Triple Disc 3K stall in it right now, but it is my understanding that it was tuned for it before I bought it. I have emailed the tuner and am waiting on a reply. I have my own code reader, but I am in between moves and it is at my other place right now, and when the CEL light came on today I took it to O'Reillys for a code reading. Their tool showed that the codes being thrown were the "Shift Solenoid B Stuck" and a "Data Link Error" but my scanner never picked up the data link error. I was wondering if anything else could be the fault for throwing the solenoid code before I drop the pan and replace it? I am pretty new to the computer controlled transmissions, all my experience comes from working on Th-350s and 400s. I appreciate any input.
  6. Rick, you may need to check your "other" inbox on facebook. I sent you a message a while ago when I was still looking for a truck and never got a response, or shown where you had read it. You may have some people trying to message you about it and you're not getting their messages because you are not friends.
  7. Hey everyone, I've been a long time lurker on this site before actually making an account, I have been looking for a Silverado SS for about 3 years and I have finally found one that was a good price with decent miles. It was a 2003 that was owned by BLNAWAY on this site. The weird thing about this truck was when I started looking for an SS I had googled "red silverado ss" and saved one of the first pictures that came up and told myself "this is exactly what I want". When I found this truck for sale at the dealership and talked to BLNAWAY he told me to go look at his gallery on this site, and when I was looking at the pictures it turned out the picture I saved was one of his pictures, so I ended up driving 8 hours to Iowa and buying the truck I saved from google 3 years ago. The truck is unbelievably clean, it has 75k miles on it when I got it and looks and drives like a brand new truck. It was so clean that the gas tank straps were still silver in color and not rusted, which is saying a lot coming from Iowa. I hope I am able to keep it as clean as it is now. I plan on installing a Volant intake, LT headers, and maybe going with a TSP 228R cam or something along those lines, and who knows what else from there. I don't have many pictures of the truck yet, but here's one from when I first bought it.
