  1. Alright well the iridiums are in. Still have the issue. There's no codes, fuel pressure is good. There is spark. I'm guessing it has to be some sort of computer issue that sadly the hypertech may have fried. Even though I did indeed remove it and put everything back to stock. I ALWAYS run premium fuel. Oil pressure is great. Oil is also fresh. I don't understand. Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
  2. Well it only does it while starting. Runs perfect otherwise. I changed fuel pump, I changed the wires once again to AC delco. Next is the spark plugs. I'm thinking could possible be a computer issue? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Well problem is still there..replaced fuel pump and went through everything no codes nothing. It does it so randomly I have no clue what it is! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yea I've read haha, butit was free and it did help a bit as well as firm up the shifts so that was nice, but yea, no longer in use for sure. I am gonna talk to zippy about tuning the 5.3 though. Thanks again for the help Guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Found the issue guys. It was the hypertech tuner!!!! I got it for free so I've been running it for a while. Why it did it after spark plugs and wires I have no clue. So I parked the truck and I've been using dads 06 z71 which had check engine light on so I used it to clear codes and figure I throw the tune on. And well on the 5.3 it makes the engine ping and on way home from work just now same symptomsm. So the hypertech is now officially used strictly for clearing codes! Holy crap can't believe it. Spent an extra $80 on damn spark plug wires but oh well, went with quality ac delco so screw it. Thanks for the help guys. But I like starting these threads for others to search down the road. My solution was a weird one but Ya never know. In conclusion hypertech sucks, everyone here could of told me that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Lucky me if it is! Haha oh well. I'll see how it behaves after the wires and the fuel filter. Thanks for the help guys! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I thought of that, but i daily drive the truck why now after I did the spark plugs and wires! Crazy! And was not able to do swap yesterday advance took forever to find the wires and then as I took the plastics off my heater hose snapped ! So now to fix that and jump back into the wires today. Truck has 175k miles so yea I guess the high mileage is catching up to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. NGK V-Power TR5 2238 is what the package came with. And Nope no check engine light. I need the truck so I'm throwing on some fresh ac Delco wires and as well as a new fuel filter and see how it goes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hi, I ordered a set of VMS spark plug wires on eBay because for $80 they came with ngk spark plugs so figured I'd give them a shot. The day I went to put them on I felt as hey we're a bit short or had to be stretched to be used, but since I broke the factory ones I needed them on. As soon as I was done she cranked right up and revved up real nice! Ran super smooth. But as the week continued I started noticing random heavy stutters. VERY RANDOM, like if I shut engine off and on real quick, and to the point that today leaving work it had heavyyyy trouble starting. I checked them out and there all plugged in as I can tell. Do you guys have a recommended spark plug wire? Ones that are long enough, I'm hoping it's the wires and not the fuel pump or something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Yes that was it!! I thought it was the wires on the ends but wasn't sure. Perfect so dark blue and black. Thank you! I'll give it a shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Finally got in installed, took long because guy forgot to send one of the lines. Radiator turned out to be cracked as well so went ahead and did that. It's braking awesome now! And pedal and steering are nice and soft but not too soft. One question though, I remember reading about it when I researched the swap, but now looking into the how to's I had open I can't find it....the plug that would connect to the booster is there a way to bypass that? It's throwing a check engine light and telling me to service the booster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Awesome thanks! And yes I can't wait. I'm gonna be towing a lot. So this is an upgrade im excited about. In fact have to do a run from miami to georgia this weekend! Luckily dads 06 is always on hand. Sometimes I miss my cummins. But I'm so happy to be back in a chevy let alone a iconic one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Does anyone happen to know the part number of the brake pedal? Can't come across it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. That's great to hear! I am literally piecing everything together this weekend. Like I said it was so bad to the point that I rear ended some lady! It was the slowest accident every I literally tapped her and her car crumbled up. All that happen to me were a few scratches and a crack next to the duct which was already there finished cracking lol. Crazy. But lucky me! Living in Miami now my insurance rates Gonna sky rocket, and I'm probably gonna have a lawsuit after me. But whatever as long as she was ok and so was I. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. So the second one also has the brake pedal. It's about $300 for everything. So basically all I would need is fluid! But my worry is the fittings. I read somewhere there's two types of model pumps and lines? Which are the correct years for my 2004? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
