  1. Post you're replying to is 12 years old. Richard
  2. Welcome to the forum, sorry it has to be under these particular circumstances. Insurance company should be looking at ads for similar vehicles to yours, shouldn't be impossible for them to find several 2003 SS's for sale, to come up with a value. 2003-2005 are all pretty similar (although in 2005 you could get optional RWD instead of AWD) so you could broaden the search there a little bit, and compare miles as well. Ebay has a 2003 SS with 85K miles that sold for $16K - it detailed up nicely but does show frame rust in the pics, surely affected the sale price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334156756985 On the other hand here's a 2006 SS (RWD only) with only 3600 miles that appears to have sold for $47K but it's practically a brand new truck. https://www.ebay.com/itm/284452314443 Richard
  3. $225 shipped from Tony @ TBSSOWNERS, if you don't mind waiting a little bit for them to arrive. At that price I suspect he waits for several orders to come in for BT parts before he places his order with them, which is understandable. I think mine took about a week or so to arrive. Sometimes his communication is spotty, but for the price.. ya know? Richard
  4. Yeah part #'s seem to have changed slightly over the years; the ones I got for my black 06 SS aren't exactly the same as the ones I just got for the silver 06 SS. Both sets ordered from Tony/NorcalSS. It seems the newer part #'s are spec'd for SUV's also, when I looked them up on Belltech's site. You can go nuts trying to figure out on their site which shocks are correct for your SS. The #'s Tony just sent me are 2412FF and 310400, for a stock height 06 SS. Firmed up the ride quite nicely as the OEM shocks were toast. Richard
  5. None of the regular ones look right on the SS due to the added body kit (cladding) - there are custom roll pans specifically for the SS. Look up BSER and DKKUSTOMS for more info. Richard
  6. I'm no expert on them but I'm pretty sure those are both the 149 t-case, compare the tags on each. There may be differences just because the different application. Richard
  7. You try searching car-part dot com for one near you? I just looked and there's a lot of 'em out there, prices all over the board. You're 100% sure it's the transfer case, before spending the bucks? Richard
  8. It's been discussed on some other forums and yeah, pretty sure that Brembo kit is a bolt-on. With a 16" rotor you'd need some good wheel clearance. I'm not sure the 22" Centerlines I've got would even work due to the inside-the-hoop valve stem placement. The wheel itself should clear but I'm worried the valve stem will hit the caliper. Richard
  9. Holy hell man, registration $400/year! I just renewed the wife's silver '06 and my 300 SRT8, $75/each, as well as the $25/ea inspection/smog check. The Intimidator is good for another couple months. At 142K I just had to throw another battery at it, the 4.5-year old Odyssey bit the dust with no warning. In a hurry I improperly diagnosed it as the 3.5-year old was-new-but-Chinesium-AC Delco starter going bad because the battery "looked" OK on the charger, but it must have a weak cell. Threw a starter on it for no good reason, so now I've got a good spare on the shelf.. Surprised the steering box needed replacement on you at 150K. Knock on wood, mine seems fine, but I've got another couple ball joints to do. Gotta do ball joints and intermediate steering shaft on the silver truck. Richard
  10. Maybe I should part my Intimidator out and stuff the drivetrain into something older. 😉 Just selling the Intimidator-specific parts should pay for the project vehicle to transplant into! Richard
  11. For a 2003 6.0 there appear to be two different GM fan clutches offered; one is for a non-A/C truck (15911779), other is for A/C-equipped (20913877) What brand and part # fan clutches did you try already? If they're other-than-GM they might be an even more universal application and less likely to behave same as original. In the aftermarket lists I sure see a lot of "SEVERE DUTY" listings which makes me think it's gonna sound like a city bus. Richard
  12. I'm on facebook plenty but facebook groups are not a replacement for forums. The search is useless and in general people are bigger assholes on fb to people they don't know, vs. on forums. Go figure! Richard
  13. Looking good.. and I haven't been following, but you're having grille inserts made? Those should be decent sellers Richard
  14. Depends on what matters to you. 2003-2004 are AWD, with the 8.6" 10 bolt rear, and rear disc brakes 2005 had RWD optional with the 9.5" 14 bolt rear, and rear drum brakes, otherwise the AWD was same as 2003-2004 2006 are RWD only with the 9.5" 14 bolt rear, and rear drum brakes, and the "HD" style hood and grille that some like 2007 "classics" are same as 2006 but not many made Options vary across the board and the last couple years it was -somewhat- common to find one every now and then with cloth seats instead of leather; there's some pics here on the site and stories to confirm. So pretty much your big choice is do you want AWD or RWD, then buy the cleanest example your budget will allow... Richard
  15. I sure hope he doesn't, since he was trying to sell them in 2007. Richard
  16. If there's no ticking, clattering, etc. from the engine when it says low oil pressure - the warning is almost surely a failed oil pressure sensor, a somewhat common failure; it's a little tricky to reach in to replace it (pretty much by braille) but the sensor isn't expensive and you can knock it out in less than half an hour. Richard
  17. Seems like a decent price for a driver, a lot of those items are pretty easy/inexpensive to repair. Cluster steppers, front signal housings, tailgate handle, radio, headliner, carpet, not all big deals and a few hundred bucks/couple weekends of work. Dunno about the A/C but could be as simple as a flaky pressure switch or maginally low refrigerant. Anyway good luck on the sale, someone gonna snap it up and have a good truck with a little work. Richard
  18. Temperature sensor is in an assembly called the aspirator; it's behind the grille in the headliner above the driver's head. Got a little fan in there blows cabin air across a temperature sensor. Richard
  19. There's minimal difference between that and the stock 275/55/20. Exact measurements will vary a little depending on brand and model of tire, but: 275/55/20 = 31.9" high, 10.83" wide 285/45/22 = 32.1" high, 11.22" wide I'm running them on my RWD '06 SS at stock height with zero issues. Richard
  20. I'd ask over on PT for more traffic and eyes on your question. I can't think of what might be leaking at the rear of a 6.0 except possibly intake gaskets? You had proper antifreeze concentration in the system so no potential for issues with that shit weather we just had? Richard
  21. No pictures and only a short description of the truck makes it tough to judge, but an '05 SS with only 38K miles is worth plenty right off the bat, plus it's got a supercharger and other work done. Most mods don't return a lot of value on sale but if someone wants a supercharged SS with low miles... time to break out the piggy bank. Richard
  22. Dorman not known for quality in materials or design across the board, in most cases lesser quality than OEM. I have no idea if their driveshafts are any good. If it's all you can find, it'll have to do though, right? Hope it works out well. It may be just fine as long as you aren't beating on it. Your original one may have failed due to corrosion or prior abuse. Richard
  23. Should be 15200239 but it's gonna be discontinued from GM. Dorman makes one but I dunno if I'd trust it.. but it's the only new one listed on Rockauto, other ones all appear to be the wrong application/length. At $633+shipping for a Dorman piece, I think I'd be checking for a local driveshaft shop to you and see what they could hook you up with. Richard
  24. Doesn't take much damage to total a modern vehicle and end up with a rebuilt title. Mine's got one due to a rear end crash that left the truck 100% driveable other than needing a taillight to be legal. Is the switch functional? Or just possibly an inactive switch that came with a replacement dash bezel.. Richard
  25. It's too bad I don't see this lawn dude around the neighborhood anymore. While unfortunately the wing is already gone from that boneyard find, it's still got the lower molding (and emblems) Richard
