  1. I have stainless ARH headers and mid-pipes ceramic coated and they look as good as the day I installed them over a year ago. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  2. The harness has been discontinued from GM. I found the only one left from a dealer in MA with ExGM's help. Keep an eye on ebay for the kit or get all the parts from a donor truck and a wiring diagram and DIY. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  3. http://www.torquerush.com/x-link.html Out of stock until June 12. I just called him last week. http://sdparts.com/i-23843384-sdpc-sdtrkadpt-torque-rush-performance-x-link-throttle-body-adapter.html Also out of stock as they buy directly from Torque Rush They usually go fast when they are posted here or on performancetrucks.net Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  4. I'm tuning with Black Bear via EFI AutoCal. I told Jason I wanted to go with the the 140ax setup and a 3.00 pulley. I thinking this should put down 11-13 lbs and make great power safely when tuned right. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  5. No suggestions on how much boost is too much? I've read on other forums guys running the 140ax on stock 5.0 Mustangs to 15lbs max on pump premium. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  6. I have a near perfect black SS tailgate with a shaved relocated handle. Shoot me a PM if interested. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  7. Recently placed my order for a Whipple 2.3l 140ax from Stillen Performance and I can't wait for it to get here! I have been wanting to install a supercharger since I bought my truck and have been saving since I bought it to do the same. I attempted to do my homework on choosing a supercharger setup for my SSS and decided on Whipple. Seems like it all comes down to what you want to spend on a setup and what brand/type of supercharger your prefer for your build. I am curious as to how much boost my stock LQ9 will SAFELY take. The 140ax comes with a 3.625in pulley that is rated for 6-8lbs of boost. I have a high-flow exhaust (long tube headers, no cats, Billy Boat exhaust) so I know that will factor into losing 1-2lbs of boost off the top. From those who have supercharged the stock LQ9 before me, what is my max target boost before I run into driveability issues? Thanks in advance as I am looking to add a smaller pulley at the time of install since I am tuning via BlackBear Autocal.
  8. Thanks guys. I'll replace the stepper motor and I'm pretty sure that should clear the problem. I've read of these instrument panels going bad as a common problem. Sort of a shame, my truck only has 30k on it! Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  9. I was driving on my way in for an overtime graveyard shift tonight and I noticed that my tachometer was misbehaving. It would read an increase in RPM as normal, but would not fall when engine RPM fell. Needless to say now my Tach is pinned passed 6K. Has anyone seen this before? Is it as simple as disassembling the dash and manually pushing the needle back down to 0? If I reset it manually I am afraid it will just pin out again. Anyone know what would cause this and how to fix it permanently? Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  10. Sold! Thank you SSS community. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  11. Did you buy this from 1BAD2K? Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  12. Good luck. Run you $1800 shipped from California. Bought mine last fall - LOVE IT! Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  13. Silverado 2500 + Drop the drive shaft + UHaul Tow Dolly Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  14. The bed of my truck is covered in carpet and a Speedsturr. I'm not loading skids of 2000 lb cargo with a forklift. I'm sure for the things I load in the 'trunk' of my truck it will be fine. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  15. Just discovered that the socks will support the weight of the tailgate and myself without cables. Much cleaner. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  16. Finally a day where I had a couple of hours free time. Installed my tailgate assist. Not to be outdone, installed one on each side. Overkill, but symmetrical. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  17. You have to make sure the alternator you are upgrading to has the same number of pigtail connecting pins as your old alternator. The bolt pattern should be the same. i.e. I purchased a high amp alternator for my 97 K1500 and swapped it right in my 2004 SSS because the wiring harness was the same. Send your alternator back and purchase one with the same pin/pigtail setup on the wiring harness for your truck. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  18. Is this really an LS1 truck or is equipped with the factory LQ9? Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  19. If you go with Dynatech headers I have a set of used mid pipes (catless) I want to unload cheap. The mid pipes will bolt to OEM exhaust. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  20. That's the trouble about learning about new things. I see it. I like it. I want one. I buy it. I spend money. I work overtime and the vicious circle starts all over again. lol Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  21. The SSS equipped standard with the LQ9 6.0 did not have a 'Y' pipe. The mid pipes between the exhaust manifold and the 'muffler and pipe' exhaust are two separate pipes with integrated catalytic converters. Other GM trucks with smaller displacement engines (5.7 etc.) of the same generation are equipped with a 'Y' pipe where the exhaust from both exhaust manifolds merges together into one pipe and then bolts to the exhaust. You could use a 'Y' pipe from a smaller displacement truck, but it would choke the exhaust flow from the LQ9. You would have to also switch out the rest of the exhaust system to match the single 3" pipe from the 'Y' pipe. Can you do it? Yes. Will you have to also then replace the rest of the exhaust system? Yes. Converting from the standard LQ9 6.0 setup to the smaller displacement setup is not a good idea in my opinion. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  22. Take it to a quality body shop and pay the $500 deductible. You will have more than $500 into your truck if you fix it right. Parts, paint, body work etc. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  23. I hate to see the SSS molested like that. Fella selling it should be called Chester. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
