  2. In my opinion it's all about what you can afford and what kind of setup you want. I wanted a positive displacement (PD) roots style blower. Whipple is the better of the two between Magnuson, it moves more air, thus more power. It also has the best internal cooling system for delivery of colder charged air. The Whipple is also more expensive initially and requires further expenses if you want to help if preform to it's maximum potential. I invested in a smaller pulley, 90mm throttle body, throttle body harness adapter, fuel injectors, fuel pump and tuning service. However I am also now pushing 15lbs of boost and massive horsepower. The ProCharger never appealed to me as I found it too much like an after thought third party product, sorta like a turbo charger strapped to the accessory assembly. Not to knock turbocharging, I spool the s*it out of the one on my Cobalt SS with the 2.0L LNF. But that's where a turbo belongs, on a four cylinder cross flow engine. Look at how all the big names make power from production cars, from roots style supercharging V8s and turbocharging I4s or boxers. Once again I understand big power can be made from twin turbocharging V8s, even the LQ9. I am very happy that I went with the Whipple and now that I'm all tuned out on my fourth tune from BlackBear would not have done anything different. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

  7. I used the OEM antenna from a 2010 Cobalt (same one as on my Cobalt SS). All three wires hook up so there is no need to drill any holes and/or add another antenna. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

  9. I like it! I too have a second SS grocery getter, but mine is a Cobalt SS. I have also used my Silverado SS to tow my Cobalt SS once or twice, like the time I dropped the LNF to spice it up a little.   14. Replaced the entire wiring harness between the MAF and the ECM yesterday. It was a huge hassle and I still need to replace all the loom to make it look good again, but I killed the ghost in the machine. No more trouble codes.
  15. Agreed. I have same votage at the end of my extension. The ECM is very picky about votage to sensors and the least amount of variation will generate a trouble code. I'm guessing I have some fluctuation at a source that I haven't found yet that is causing my headache. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

  17. Thanks in advance as the guys on the Cobalt SS form are too sophomoric to accomplish anything. Got in my car to drive home from work one morning and it ran horrible, missing, sputtering, etc ran fine on the way to work. Suspected bad signal from MAF, so I disconnected it and idle smoothed out. Limped home and stated diagnostics. Showing following trouble codes when everything is hooked up as it should be: P0100 P0114 Mind you I relocated my MAF directly in front of my throttle body after the turbo and intercooler. Moved MAF back to original location behind air filter and eliminated the wiring harness extension that allows the relocation of MAF. Eliminated one code but still have P0100. Ran to the local stealership and bought a new MAF. Attempted new MAF in both locations with same results. I'm pretty sure the MAF is not the problem. Can't figure out why the wiring harness extension is bad, I made it myself and all the terminals look good and proper. Checked the factory plug on factory wiring harness, that all looks proper too. If the MAF is good and the wiring harness is good, why would this problem all of a sudden just pop up? Is there another condition that would cause these trouble codes? Two Options: Turn Key Kit and Tuner Kit Turn Key comes with complete w140ax and everything needed to install: w140ax mounted in intake manifold complete with fuel rails and injectors heat exchanger with overflow tank high-flow water pump 160 degree thermostat high-flow in-tank fuel pump high-flow K&N air filter for stock air box accessory re-locator accessory belt tentioner accessory belt hoses wiring harness SCT handheld programmer +(I am sure that I forgot something) I ordered the tuner kit which does not include fuel injectors, fuel pump, or handheld programmer. I went this route because I ordered a 3.000 pulley for higher boost, as opposed to the 3.750 pulley that comes with the turn key kit. I added a 90mm throttle body from a 5th generation Camaro, so I will not be reusing my 78mm LQ9 truck intake throttle body. I have been in contact with Justin from Black Bear Performance for tuning via EFI Live AutoCal. I chose a FiveO Motorsport 340LPH in-tank fuel pump, and FiveO 72lb 750cc fuel injectors.

  22. I have upgrades purchased for the 60e, shift kit, servos, pressure plate, bushings, servos, etc. Pretty much whatever I could throw at it without taking it out of the driveline. I know in the long run the Whipple is going to smoke the 60e and/or the transfer case, so I plan on replacing the 60e with a built 80e once that happens. The upgrades are just to make the 60e last a little longer.
  23. The Whipple has been on order since 04/15. I was advised a ship date of 06/15. I plan on taking pictures of the installation for ships and giggles. I have been working with Justin from Blackbear Performance for the tune and advice on parts to add ( throttle body, fuel pump, injectors, etc). I'll throw pictures up on this thread once I get them.
