  1. My father in law has a 2005 Silverado 1500. He had the typical ABS/BRAKE lights on and he took to the dealer. The dealer told him the ABS module needed replaced. I work at a Mercedes/Volvo dealer;therefore, I got him a new module for much less then retail. He took the truck back to the dealer to have the module installed and programmed. The truck was fine for a week and now the lights are back on, but now the ABS pump won't stop running (the dealer pulled the fuse for now)and the dealer now says he needs a new pump; have you ever seen this before? I see many online posts about pumps not shutting off and the common fix is to repair/replace the module, well, we put a brand new module on and the pump won't shut off. Dealer claims new pump required and they want $1600 because the lines may break. I find it hard to believe that a week ago the module was replaced with a brand new AC-DELCO unit at a local GMC dealer, now they claim the pump needs to be replaced because it won't shut off, but if the ABS module is what controls the pump and it's brand new and worked fine for a week, why would the pump need replacing?
