  2. Hey so i did most of the led conversions on all of the switches and cluster etc on my Silverado and Suburban, they look awesome, i did something different for the headlight switch i mounted an led on the end of the original bulb, i just cute the bulb off, and it worked. all went well until i went to do the heater which i shouldn't have done as it turned to shit, as you will see in the photos pulling off the turn dials for the temp control damaged the slidding track. don't know if ill be able to fix this or not. im trying to find a way to fix it as don't want to buy a new heater control
  3. Hit up Jonny Peters on Facebook he's got about 10 being made as we speak. this is an older post but hes only doing the brushed aluminum ones this time round, I gave up on the shopman ones a long time ago.
  4. I might have a good at one of my headlight switches over the weekend. I found the cluster pretty simple to do. I’ll keep you updated on my headlight switch then

  7. i might buy some of these also, the ones i brought re mounted to a base so it makes them hard to mount, have you replaced the bulbs for leds in the steering wheel controls also but i see those are tiny, have you done them, do you know which ones are best for them?

  14. been a while since i have put an update up. plans did change and i didnt end up shipping the truck out to New Zealand, the single cab made it but i have the SS in storage for the time being i have recently been over to the US and finally got to see the SS for the first time, man there has been a lot of damge done from the salvage yard, the exhaust is toast, the forks have gone right through the tail pipe, i had to swap out the transfer case as it was making a huge crunching noise, i had to replace one of the rear struts as a forklift had damaged one of them as well, plus i had to sort out the alarm as the guys that had stollen it had made a huge mess of it, but im happy where its at now just need to get my self a new rear bumper cover and have the front one repaired and painted and she will be an awesome truck again here is a picture i took of her in a parking lot before i left
  15. I thought i would get some help from my peeps on this forum, i want to get the sunroof working again in the single cab truck i brought, but i don't know what brand it is and what i need to get it working again, i take it that it had a motor on it or maybe its a manual opening one i don't know. any help would be great. Cheers guys
  16. Time for an update, since so much has changed since my last update, the container arrived and i was informed before it got here, that the single cab is here, but the SS is still in america, there wasn't enough room to fit it so its still in the US. which is kind of bad but also good. I have been doing some thinking since then about what i should do, and iv'e thought maybe i might buy the parts needed to get the single cab back to its former glory and get it on the road back here in NZ then maybe keep the SS in america as my truck to use while i am visiting, since i have a place i can store it. its a bit of a pain its not here, but also it gives me time to think about this more, the single cab really isn't as bad as i first thought which is why i have changed my mind a bit as it has the bones to be a good truck again and seems a waste to part it out, more to come again soon i work things out, i know Erick will probabaly want to buy the truck back but its still in California and plus i might get attached to it haha, and i haven't even seen it yet. more updates to come as i work everything out.
  17. following this post , So our trucks went opposite directions you got yours from Los Angerles and i got mine from Houston should of just swapped lol
  18. im after a rear bumper, can i get one shipped to 92840?
  19. i don't know if that was done in shipping or not either way it has to be repaired, im having second thoughts about doing this clone conversion and looking at different ways i can get the truck road legal here in New Zealand, we have a thing called a LHD permit it has to meet certain things here is the list of thing i would have to meet ; A left-hand drive vehicle must be owned as a collector’s item (as determined by the Transport Agency), and: **be of historic value (evidence of historical significance must be supplied with this application) OR **The vehicle’s make, model and submodel has never been manufactured in right-hand drive form (evidence from the manufacturer must be supplied with this application), and the vehicle meets three of the following four criteria: 1- The vehicle is and was manufactured as a two-door coupe or convertible (evidence must be supplied with this application or the application will not proceed) 2- The vehicle is and was manufactured as a high performance vehicle (evidence must be supplied with this application or the application will not proceed) 3- The vehicle’s make, model and sub-model has been (or was) manufactured in annual volumes of 20,000 units or less (evidence must be supplied with this    application or the application will not proceed) 4- The vehicle (or its make, model and sub-model is identified as being a collector’s item in a commercially produced motoring publication (a copy of the relevant article must be supplied with this application or the application will not proceed) I think that the truck would meet 3 of these, its not going to meet the first one as its not a coupe lol but the other 3 it should fit into. On another note im trying to find SS parts which are easier said than done so if anybody out there knows of a rear bumper and maybe the rear 2 claddings for sale hit me up, i do have a buddies house in California i can have bits sent to if anyone has anything for sale. I did find this bumper on ebay but i think its over priced for what it is; http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-04-05-06-07-SILVERADO-1500-REAR-BUMPER-ASSY-STEP-BUMPER-SS-OPT-B4U-4015699-/361511868760?fits=Model%3ASilverado+1500%7CSubmodel%3ASS&hash=item542bc95958:g:42sAAOSw2GlXFrfL&vxp=mtr
  20. here is also some photos i got sent from my shipper, its looking pretty sad but it is pretty dirty, this truck is due for some much love to bring her back to her former glory
  21. im going to have to work out what i can do once these trucks arrive here, it would be a shame to strip out the ss its just a real hard thing to decide, if it wasn't for our dumb laws with registering the truck left hand drive i would keep the truck as is, and i don't really want to convert it to RHD as thats another 20k plus my time. i might be able to install the cab and bed onto an older chassis then it would come under a build and as long as i put it on a 20 year or older chassis i can get it left hand drive, crazy laws but thats the way it is here, that is my only reason for doing this custom project, i might look out for a 1996 chassis that i could use the chassis and bits to make it onto that, its risky doing that as well since really it wont be a 1996 on top but under neath it would still be. anyway i've got a lot of thinking to do
  22. Thanks for the photos i didn't even realise the truck was that low, the photos from the insurance auction were taken from a different angle, looks like such an awesome truck and i cant wait to get it, im so sorry it as stolen from you i hope you buy yourself another one, having something stolen from you must suck im always worried about it even here in New Zealand, thats why i've installed cameras around my house since i have a few nice vehicles here. great to see you have taken good care of the truck pity the person that stole it didn't, never mind ill decide when it gets here what im going to do with the truck.
  23. i think the truck was recovered but the cops must of never let him know that it had been found, its just to bad that they didn't notice it earlier, as its pretty had to bring the truck back now when its not even on the same land, i would hate to have any of my rides stollen they are our pride and joys
  24. Hey Man As you know from talking on the phone earlier on today, the truck is in a container on its way to New Zealand so the timing is pretty bad really, it does look like an awesome truck, im just going to have to wait and see how bad the damage is when it arrives here, then ill see what im going to do with it. seems a shame to pull apart the truck but is as nice as it is, but since our dumb laws here in NZ it cant be road legal the way it is, it would have to be converted to right hand drive, and im not going down that road again, we will stay in contact and i will let you know if there is anything in the truck of yours once it arrives here.
