Thanks Tricia. I will take you up on that. I will message you the info in the next few days.

I paid under kbb retail for a LTZ Silverado 2wd ext cab. Plus got out from under my trade.
-
L76 replaced the LQ9 (fuel management and more HP), lowered ride height, color matching front facia, improved trans, bucket seats, 4wheel disc full ABS, 20" wheels....Id say they are comparable. Educate me though.
-
Thanks! We should meet up sometime.

I agree. Lower'd ride hieght. check, 6.0L L76 (Replacement for LQ9 VortecHO) check, 6spd trans with triptronic manual shift buttons +/- (an improvement vs the 4spd) check, 4 wheel disc brake w/full ABS check, tow/haul package check, 20" wheels check, sport bucket seats check, color matching front facia check. One could argue that had Chevy made an SS in 09 this is how it would have came equip'd (possibly the 6.2 liter vs 6.0). Am I missing something?

Thanks everyone. No I didnt get taken. I wasn't in the market for an SS, just a great deal on a nice truck and a way to get out from under a SUV. I was looking for all makes and models of 1/2 ton trucks out there when I saw it online. I was able to talk them into going $3k under asking price, pay off my trade, pay registration costs, all for about the same payment as my Jeep Commander Limited. I will post up pics when I can. Just go easy on me. Lol

Thanks for the warm welcome. So far I love the truck and have gotten a ton of compliments. The original owner was a friend of the dealer and huge SS fan. He supposedly entered it into a lot of shows and pampered the hell out of it. The 6.2 liter would be desirable but I will take it for what it is. Wasn't the 6.2 only offered for the HD and Sierra Denali? Again I am new to all this and appreciate the feedback and info.

As I stated in the New Members Forum, I am new to SS's and as such had no idea that they stopped production in 2007. I purchased a Black 2009 Silverado 1500 (thinking it was an SS), 19k miles, LTZ trim, that has been moded and tweaked to resemble an SS. It has the 6.0. Has a 6pd Auto. 20'' wheels. 4 wheel disc brakes. After market exhaust, (sounds mean). and the SS badging. Really is a beautiful truck, and is quick to boot. I'll post pics soon.

Hello, I live in Henderson (Las Vegas) NV. I just purchased a used 2009 Silverado. This is a Black, LTZ trimmed, 6.0, 6spd 1500 that was moded and fitted to be an SS by the original owner. Will post pics soon. I had no idea that it wasn't a "real" SS when I purchased it last week. I stumbled upon this site when researching why my VIN decoded as a LTZ and not an SS. Anyway, I hope to learn more from all of you and that you will accept me and my 2009 "SS" into your community. Brandon 09SS
