  1. Doesn't look like the pictures attached. I'm trying again. I did it!
  2. Got my 03 SS paid off and it's time to do some modding before I start a family. First on the list is Tony's 3/4 drop kit. The previous owner installed helper bags and completely cut out the bump stops. Apparently, they used to do some hauling. I do not. In fact I plan to pull the hitch when I install the drop kit. It looks like the helper bags will just unbolt, but I'm wondering if I need to worry about the bump stops being removed. Should I replace them? I'm attaching a pic of what I'm looking at. Thanks - Nick
  3. I was tearing out an old work bench in my basement today and found this. The writing says: 20 MM DUMMY XM 254 POH 1-2-74 I've never seen one before and am not well (or even poorly) versed in military paraphernalia. I'm hoping someone here can provide some insight into what it was used for/in. sent using tapatalk
  4. Picked up my summer wheels today! Can't wait to put them on the truck once the weather turns. Boss 345 22x9 +20 offset and Nitto 420s 275/45r22 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  5. Anyone have any insight on this? I'm leaning towards the +40 offset. When I use the tool found here: http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp It says the +20 will be clear of any brake/suspension components compared the stock tire/wheel combo, but will stick out from the fenders .1" while the +40 will be .7" closer to brake/suspension components but tuck better into the fender than stock setup. I poked around the truck today and with the wheels at full lock .7" doesn't look like it should be an issue.
  6. I found a set of 22 x 9 wheels I like. They come in +20 and +40 offsets. I'm planning on wrapping them in Nitto 285/45r22 420s. After looking through 6 pages of search results, countless threads on offset, rubbing, drops, etc, and using a couple different tire/wheel calculators out on the web I feel better educated on the subject but I don't know if I'm any less confused. Right now the suspension and brakes on the truck are completely stock, but I do want to leave room to do the Tahoe 13" rotor/brake upgrade as well as a potential 3/4 drop. Part of my confusion is I don't know the specs of the stock wheel for sure. In the search results there are many different offsets quoted for the stock wheel (the most popular seems to be +22). If it is +22 maybe we can get that stickied for future reference? I'm also confused about how dropping the truck will affect wheel clearance. Would a lowered truck need a greater or lesser offset than one at stock height? TIA for your help.
  7. You can find the factory paint code on the sticker in glove box. I think it's at the bottom. The sticker should have your VIN as well as facotry installed options if I remember correctly. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  8. That's really helpful. Thank you! As I've started looking into which cats to buy I've found there are more options than I thought there would be. On Magnaflow's website some are listed as pre-OBDII, there are ceramic, metallic, 2-way, 3-way... I haven't been able to find much information on what impact each has on performance or anything else. I'm just looking for a set of cats that will flow better than stock and not set of any red flags when I have to take my truck in for emissions testing. I've read some good reviews about Magnaflow's #59959, but again on their website it's listed as pre-OBDII. I checked out the Kooks cats GI.SS recommended, but at over $300 each they're out of my price range. Am I over thinking this? Will any 3" cat do the job?
  9. I have AWD and I thought the pacesetter y-pipe didn't fit. Am I wrong? EDIT: According to the notes on pacesetters website for headers part no. 72C2265 y-pipe 82-1176 does not fit the 6.0L Is this inaccurate? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  10. I do want to keep the cats. I drive my truck up to Madison WI several times a year and I certainly dont mind the truck being louder but I would like to keep rasp and drone to a minimum. Any recommendations on high flow cats? How much room is there after the collectors for cats? If anyone could provide measurements or part numbers for cats that will fit I would really appreciate it. Can anyone in the st Louis area recommend a good shop to do the work? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  11. Just got my LTs today. I'm thinking I'll get some high flow cats as well, but I'd like to leave the corsa cat back I have now. I'm happy with the sound and the litter I can keep my exhaust budget the more likely I'll be able to do a shift kit and tune down the road. So I'm wondering since the pacesetters have 3 in collectors and the corsa sport is a 3 in cat back should I get 3 in cats and replace the factory piping with the cats in them? So far my only mods are the cat back which was installed when I bought the truck and a cold air intake so I'm not making a lot of power and I don't want the exhaust system to be too open and lose power. Also what should I expect cost wise to have new cats put in? I'm planning on doing the headers myself and would probably supply the cats to the shop. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  12. I think the colors appeal to my inner toddler.
  13. I like it except for the white on the front. I would never do anything like that, but it is different and visually interesting.
  14. If you can catch them on your property you can try spraying some canned air. The noise scares the crap out of my cat. We use it when he is doing something we don't want him to do. It works pretty well. If you scare them every time they come over they may stay away.
  15. If I had the cash to burn I'd buy that in a second. Then I would roll it off a cliff.
