  1. Guys I've got a issue and have no idea where to begin. Started a couple days ago. My wife was driving my truck and went to roll up driver/passenger windows. When it reached the up limit, the entire dash turned off and back on. Like it was a reset or keyed off. We couldn't get it to do it again and yesterday morning I flashed my hi-beams at a guy and it did the same exact thing. Well this morning, went to crank up my truck and no power. Popped the hood to check the batt cables and the factory alarm goes off. I looked inside and it had power so I tried to start the truck. It spin over for a second and never fired and immediately lost power again. The only aftermarket electronics on the truck is the head unit and it's been in there since I bought the truck in 2012. Guys I'm lost on this one and need some direction.
  2. If you lived on a gravel/dirt road like the previous owner did, I would bedliner the bottom section. If not, def blend it and call it good.
  3. Oh no worries in me buying one. A buddy of mine just picked one up and it just didn't seem right to me. Personally I'm goin with a Yank or Circle D.

  5. I've been parts gathering for my LQ9 since I started my deployment. Cam is a TSP 220 LSA 114. About to place the order to ARH for 1 7/8" with cats. Next on my list is injectors. I found one dealer that has them for a set of 8 at 450. Any body else know of someplace to order them? I'm also on the lookout for a set of 243's since I decided to keep this thing NA. Which when I get home, I'm taking about a month off and it's gonna be dedicated to turning wrenches (electric fan conv, possibly heads if I find some, cam swap, headers, water pump and oil pump since its apart). Oh, trans is getting swapped early 2014 for a FLT as well.
  6. MagnaChargedSS, Did you get the system from the ebay seller or did you actually go through Banks? Just asking since I'm trying to see if Banks offers a military discount lol.
  7. I'm mostly stock right now: CAI, cat back, and tune. At the end of the year I will be throwing in a FLT Level 5 with a 2800-3000ish converter, ARH long tubes, E-fans, DJM lower arms with rear hangers and shackle. For the most part I'm trying to get the chassis/drivetrain setup for durability/handling before I drop in a 408 making around 430-450ish. I'll have plenty of time to parts plan since I leave tomorrow for a 9 month deployment.
  8. Figured I would ask if someone has tried this setup. Before everyone says to just go the C6 route, I can't justify spending that much money on a brake setup when I can get reasonably close to the performance without the cost of Corvette parts.   9. What about the wiring harness? I would like to find GM harness for mine but no one around my area has the fans or harnesses, or they are wanting the same price as aftermarket fan assy.
  10. Currently I'm thinking about ordering a set of TEA 317's for my mostly stock lq9. My truck currently has 148k miles on it. Now for the question. I would love to put these heads on my motor but I'm concerned about general wear and tear. What would you guys consider a safe compression test readings before needing a full rebuild? Now for the injector question. I know there is a such thing as over carbing a engine but does efi follow the same rules?
  11. NORCAL- Whats the pro's/con's of the drop arms vs spindle drop? Is it due to caster/camber issues? How about some places/prices for DA QA1 shocks?
  12. Well after looking around some more, I did find a 2008 truck intake for what I thought is a fair price without the injectors and rails. Can I use the 2003 injectors and rails or does it need the newer style? Think a NNBS intake would be decent for a high torque stroker i'll be building?
  13. As the title says, anyone running a ported intake such as from ls2portworks? Currently I'm running a mostly stock lq9. What I am trying to do is upgrade this current motor with parts I can re-use on a 408 i'll be building after the first of the year. Everything will be staying N/A and I won't be running a huge cam/stall combo as this truck will still tow once in awhile. Tuning is not a big deal since I'll be getting a mail in from Wheatley. Would this also be the perfect time for 8.1 injectors as well or wait for the stroker to be built? Some people would say just get a FAST but lets face it, if i can get a truck intake ported for half the price of a FAST, why not? Other than the truck intake is ugly lol. And when you pop the hood and people think its stock.
