  1. All, I have had my 408 stroker up and running for the past 9 months or so and want more power. I live in Colorado so I get robbed some horsepower due to altitude and am looking towards a turbo or supercharger for more power. just brief info on the motor: I kept the cam mild for reliability issues, I have cold air intake, headers, tunned by zippy, the whole engine was just went through 9 months ago, new pistons, lunnati cam, heads worked, callies setup for the bottom end. Looking for your guys input on some possibilities for my next step....would you recommend turbo or supercharger...what kit and why . I more than likely wont be taking it to the track, but use it as a weekend driver. Thanks your guys tips and advice. Also, since I'm a few years late on picking up a BSER roll pan...anybody have and advice on other good looking roll pans.
  2. Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it! Ya my mechanic is definetly older but knows his stuff. Seen alot of good reviews from Zippy after looking around the site, i will give him a call.
  3. All, Last time i posted my truck had crapped out on me and i was looking into stroker kits. So last summer i tore the engine down (1st time doing so) with a family friend who is a mechanic. So we start tearing it down and see ARP bolts which was a good sign and great surprise. After digging through the motor the previous owner had already stroked it LOL. a valve spring ended up breaking and running through the motor, pieces everywhere. Also the previous owner placed a big cam, which a few of the lobes were severly worn down. Long story short i ended up dumping around 3500.00 for all new parts pistons, smaller cam but bigger than stock ..etc. Engine was finally finished this weekend however my mechanic has said i had way to big injectors in the motor before which washed the oil off the rings and is thinking stock injectors are the way to go but is unsure. Anybody have any suggestions?? Secondly, he said i may have to send in my computer to a company or order a programer?? I suggested a tune but he was also unsure?? Would like to hear suggestions ...He asked me to search as he is not as savy with the internet world. Thanks again.
  4. Thanks guys for the help. Just got truck back from the mechanic. Anybody had any good luck with trickflow ...looking at there Trickflow 550 hp gen x top end kit for LS2.......sent them an email...just got to find out the price. http://www.trickflow.com/partdetail.asp?part=TFS%2DK306%2D550%2D470&view=16383&N=400098++150+&orig=1 .....Once again guys thanks for your input.
  5. To the wheels...i do not want to run spray..i have to redo the motor anyways due to it being shot i guess...no compression out of cylinder 1
  6. Hello all, New to the registering to the site but have looked through it for a while now. I have a 2004 SS Silverado AWD with hooker headers and intake. I'am not to savy with motors but, recently had the motor pulled and am looking at either buying a top end rebuild kit (Any suggestions), 408 Stroker or i ran across a guy who said i all i needed was LS6 Heads, LS6 Intake and a bigger cam??? I'am trying to achieve 400hp + and keep the cost no more than 4000.00 ....your guys/gals help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I also want to have an all motor truck ..no turbo or supercharger..
