Went up against a 2006 ISS 2WD. Well I held him till 60 because of AWD traction but the weight difference of +400Lbs or so can't be beat it in the long run.
-
I heard of a few guys cutting up the old one and flipping the brackets or something. Don't hold me to this jus heard of it.

I don't think you can run 87 on our trucks with the raised compression. Seems like you might get some knock form 87.
the map retards the timing i believe. so it takes care of the knock.
-
Im proof the worst thing ever!!!!!!!!!!!! I just did mine and well now ima pay 2k for it literately.
-
My Diablo Sport has that option. Their not to bad on price $300 or so. Bonus they have a 87 octane program in the unit already.

on my to do list. looks right!

Was the trans giving you symptoms of going south prior to the flush? If it was leaking from the cooler lines prior, that's one thing. But having it flushed couldn't have done anything good for the system. It seems like every other time I hear someone doing this on a trans system, something terrible happens. The flush seems like a good idea, in theory. But it just stirs up any silt and debris in the system. That debris ends up clogging passages and solenoids, which ultimately ruins the trans because it is so sensitive to pressures.
I probably missed something but if I am close to hitting the situation with my blurb above, you probably should be asking the shop to compensate you at least partially for the rebuild.
My good guy at the service counter but not at chevy anymore told me the same. he did it on a 5.3 and he said it drove in and never drove out flush took the trans right out. hes been a service provider from chevy to gmc to vw i been bringing all my vehicles since 16. its the stealership that i dont like.
but he swears by you should drop the pan and filter change an adding on all vehicles. flush is to violent. should of called him first but damn coupons.
and ya to the trans leak.

I just replaced all four of my O2 sensors last weekend. After seeing the prices at Autozone (anywhere from 60-80 each) I did a lot of searching on ebay. Best prices on both the up and down sensors were from the same seller. I paid $112 shipped for all four and got them in 5 days.
Heres one http://www.ebay.com/itm/150837315003?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Heres the other http://www.ebay.com/itm/380812422839?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Hope this helps
And yes, its cold as f*** out!
ThankSS

Well I checked the tranny level and its fnnn 3/4" over the hash mark. Called NTB they said bring it in. But the question remains what damage can happen by over filling it?
-
The only way to say this is the WINTER been hell on truck. I noticed both my tranny cooler lines were leaking, haven't replaced yet due to -20. But I had NTB due a flush and filter figuring I'll go back once a swapped the lines for a fill.
Now up shifting has become a struggle it seems. It takes it about 300RPM or 5-10SECS up shift from any gear. When im at 40% under on throttle the truck shifts fine. codes are:
P0116 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Range/Performance
P0125 Insufficient Coolant Temperature for Closed Loop Fuel Control
P0128 Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temp Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)
P0131 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0132 O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
O2 sensors need replacing?
P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfuction
P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off
p0740-1 are my tranny issues what do you think deal is?
I am redoing both drive shafts u-joints and balance. Also a front driveside diff seal. This thursday.

I know! I need to invest a voltage meter, but my diablo sport might tell me real time info.I gotta check.
-
Just had the similar codes. replaced t/b on 1/17/14 havent had any issues. blow a hole in the t/b casting from a gear or wtf. right next to the sensor.

What voltage are you getting from the alternator and what voltage do you have at the battery standing still?
Thanks but i found a broken ground for my hood and the one the left on the fire wall was corroded. Cleaned them up hook the battery up and no more light. doubt thats goona be the end of this.
-
Yea what he said... A weak battery will mess you up bad. Mine did. High idle, reduced engine power, low fuel pressure... Etc...
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All that from a battery. I'm running an optima red top for three years. But i have notice i dont crack right over on 30 degrees and under. And a few other corks.

Double up on the 3M tape or anything you can find stronger. Ive had em go bad on me 3x or more. This winter I got sick of it not sticking and jus took it off till spring.

So I been a victim of the P1516 Reduce Engine Power "Bandit". So I just replaced the throttle body, unhooked battery so on and so further before removing. I hook everything back up and now my battery light is on. Any suggestions?
I did clean the MAF with the right cleaner. I cleaned the t/b. Still throw the P1516. Checked all of the t/b connections best job I ever seen GM do. The t/b did have a small hole next to the TAC. Here's a pic.
Aem air filter otherwise all stock.

Replaced the t-case. No more issues. But front u-joints need replacing
-
Ive having an idle issue myself. did you ever get to the bottom of it. Im showing P0442? thinking of replacing EVAP

Im having the same issue starts at 60 or the jus get to where at 90 feels like ima lose something. So I did front and rear driveshaft u-joints and had both balanced. Well never felt so solid but this vibration is still here. Ive been told that the trans is going. It was only $300 with labor so not bad if you dont wanna get dirty. Ima go to the D/S an get a second opinion.
