  1. On my 06, last night I had to take a short trip pulled out of the driveway and no low beams. I checked the high beams, they work. The park lights work the fog lights work. The only thing different than stock is the painless hi beam upgrade (all four light up with high beams on). The truck gave me no fore warning. It has 117,500 miles now and is a daily driver. That being said it has 12 volts at the fuses for both low beams but it doesn't have power at the lights. I think it is the multifunction switch but I don't know if anyone has had the same issue with there truck.
  2. I have a neighbor with an 03 escalade engine in his 99 jeep tj. It has worked great for years but he's ready for more power. He has purchased a complete pair of L92 heads (fully dressed). He has also purchased an intake off an 08 L76 vmax pickup. The engine has 80k on it and so I've recommended he get a new timing chain and gears for the swap. I don't want to miss anything in the conversion, so are the valve covers the same as the lq9? He's gonna need rocker arms and the pedestals they ride on and pushrods, am I forgetting anything? I know it's a popular swap so any help would be great
  3. i recently took my 06 crew vmax to florida on vacation, vacay was great, truck did awesome 17.1 mpg's at 80 mph. I did notice that after a while atleast 150 miles if i went 80mph the trans would occasionally come out of lockup it would always reengage but not for atleast 3 miles i didn't do it all the time, more often in hilly areas, if i went 70mph it would never occur, i could not pinpoint when it would do it, i couldnt predict it aside from the variation in speed. this truck at 80 is turning 2500 to 2600 rpm with the 4.10 and 285 50 20 tire, i know these trucks have to small of a factory trans cooler, so i need to get a bigger one, but i have made alot of valvebody changes, vette servo, sonnax afl, sonnax boost valve, and shift kit. the trans is original, the truck is strong and i know there has to be a weak link i just thought the factory carbon woven lockup clutch in the converter was bulletproof. So my question is this a programming issue [ the truck has had all the factory trans features turned off/ reprogrammed] or do i need a new converter
  4. I live in holland michigan's west coast, zippy's old stomping grounds. I have attempted to contact the previous owner with no luck I bought the truck in westboro, massachusetts the previous owner lived in Vermont and owned a ski shop, he traded it in 2011 for a new duramax. The power number I was lookin for was at the tires
  5. Hi my name is John I am new to the site as a member. I purchased my truck in feb of 2011 and love the platform I am wondering with the modifications to my 06 if it would be worth a dyno tune to wring out any additional power, the truck has had a base tune from a reputable shop in Nunica, Michigan. The tune was done based on an airbox and exhaust. I had no idea at the time that the previous owner had put afr heads on this truck, I still don't know what cam is in this truck, I making the assumption that if the previous owner swapped the heads he would have swapped the cam. Thanks for any help, also does anyone have an educated guess as to the power this combo should put to the tires.
