  1. I have a problem. My engine light is on. Took it to Autozone and the code that comes up is a vacuum leak. Its the code that says it could be one or the other, your gas cap or a vacuum leak. Now I changed the gas cap had the light turned off. The light has come back on. Does anyone have a clue what the vacuum code could be under the hood?

  2. stylin trucks have the mod, $30. I understand that the diode can work at a cheaper cost but know one knows how many ohms the diode is, just that its a 1/4 watt. What happens when one of us gets the wrong ohm and we melt it? Yes I understand "no big deal the lights will just go back to the factory way". It the trial and error I was just trying to stay away from. And I know you all have been using the diode for years with no problems, maybe you where lucky and picked out the correct ohm 1/4 watt diode.

Im just in the middle of my research and I think the mod from Stylin Trucks is good. I know its $30 but if you have a Silverado SS or TBSS and your on this forum than $30 is not even a drop in the bucket. Remember you get what you pay for.

  3. LEAVE THE DRUMS!!!!!!!! I had an 04 silverado 4x4 with disks in the back. You couldnt stop that truck if your life deppended on it. My 06 Intimidator with factory disk/drum stops on a dime. But I am going to up grade the frnt to Z06 brakes. Google it. Your trucks will stop on half dimes.

Use this google link to find the silveradoss forum guy's how to.

This set up is for frnt and rear but if you have drums in the rear LEAVE them alone. All you need is those BIG RED's up frnt and you will be good.

Look I have been killing myself on this forum trying to find out how to do the 4 Hi Head lights on my truck - THE RIGHT WAY -. Im not saying that you all are doing it the wrong way. I just dont want to hok up the diode and than find out a week or a year down the road the the diode failed and I have to do it again.

Here is the 4 Hi kit from stylin trucks, plug-n-play comes with everything you need.

Hope this works, and remember you get what you pay for.

  5. OK another question. trying to do the Hi/Lo Mod with the diode, just got back from Radio Shak cause the lady said I needed to know what Ohm diode I needed. I got the info for the 1/4 watt diode from the guy here in the forum but what ohm diode do I need? Also DRL on all the time seems like something to do but I am wanting to install LED Switch Backs for my DRL/Turn signals in the bumper lights. My first thing right now is the 4 Hi Mod.

Please tell me what Ohm 1/4 watt diode I need.

    Thank you so much.

  6. That sticker means nothing. I have the same one with the exact same number. DEI doesn't know anything about the trucks other than they approved GM to make them as long as DEI got their money for the Dale stuff added. The dealerships are idiots don't have a clue, some people didn't even know what a Intimidator Silverado was.

I've got the Certificate coming. The Cert.'s don't tell you the Production Number / Code though. You have to call GM give your VIN# and find out the Auto Plant in which is was built. There you will find what number it was when it rolled off the assembly line.

Well, what all info is on that special D/E ISS decal inside the left rear door jam? On the front endge of the ext'd cab door.

I know it is ONLY used on these rare trucks, & it starts off saying something about the "Name, signatures, images, etc are property of Dale Earnhardt Inc. Blaa, Blaa, Blaa". Do these decals not have some kind of serial # on them too?

Maybe someone here can take a pic of this decal I'm speaking of and post it up on here??

It shows to be GM PN#15782079. They also still show to have them out of the Lansing, Michigan parts plant. List is like $15 dollars...

  7. I'm still looking bro. My Uncle works for GM in Michigan, he's going to help me find the Production Number / Code. I have also called Canada where my truck was built, that Plant is closed but I found a guy that may be able to help.

Unfortunately you can get the cert. from Gm but you may have to contact the factory that built your truck. This is starting to seem like the "more involved" task. What I mean is that you will have to do some digging to find the production number but the cert was easy.

  8. How do I get the Certificate of Authenticity for my Intimidator SS Silverado?

    Certificate of Authenticity

Ok I have it on order. It will be here in 2 - 3 weeks.

Call Gm Customer Service 800 - 222 - 1020 Follow promps. (wich you probably wont get the right ones but that the lovely Automated System) Get a REAL person.

    I Called: CHRIS 866 - 790 - 5700 xt: 22893

He didnt seem to want me to pass this number out to every one but I told him he helped me out. And we have ALL had nothing but troubles getting this info. So please don't through me under the bus when you call.

ONE more thing. THey can't give you the product code (the number of your truck). He gave me the Plant in wich the truck was made. Im calling them now. I'll let you know what I find out.

    Thanx

    Victor

  10. Friday25 and I have 2006 SS. His is a Silverburch mine is the Blk Intimidator. Differences: Sunroof (optional), "Intimidator" emblem on tail gate and both doors, signature in cluster, Dale Earnhardtin head rest, the race wing on the top of the tail gate. Basically its a few cosmetic stuff that has NOTHING to do with the performance of the truck. I was wanting a SS preferably newer. It took me 3 months to find one in Florida and unfortunately it was black but I jumped on it anyway. I love it. I will never get rid of it. Still looking for a Silverburch SS Silverado and looking for a White Trailblazzer SS and a Silverburch one. Yes I plan on having a few SS collections.

What are ALL the differences between the '06 Intimidator and the standard SS?

    :pepsicheer:

  11. My '06 Intimidator 2wd Getsbetween 18 and 21 at 80mph. We tuned it that was the biggest thing and wealso adjusted the shift points. Adjusting does nothing to the gas mileage butyou defiantly need to TUNE. You WILL see a BIG difference. But it needsto be done right.

im from new orleans and my WHOLE family still stay there so i have drove EVERY car i own there..

so ALL of my 94-96 impala ss's have been and my 05 300, my old Sss (AWD) have been on 1 full up and still have gas to ride the streets with BUT in this 06 2WD i only got 13 F'N MPG!!! i dont even think i was half way and i had to fill back up!!!

the only mods that i know of is K&N intake and i thought that helps with the MPG's.. is there something i should check out? and the only gas i use is 93.. but its crazy that my AWD was getting atleast 15-16 highway and i though 2wd wouldve got me about 17 18 but at first i was getting 12.8 than 13

  12. Hey everyone I just installed my new"smoked" bumper lights and head lights. It took about 5minutes. These babies are sweet. They are holding up very well andvery well constructed. Looks like factory and not those cheat clip on lenses. Let me know and I'll give ya the E-bay company I got them from. Remember I’m in Florida so I don’t have the harsh weather anymore like upnorth so I don’t know how well they'll do in the extreme cold but you can’t gowrong in Florida.
