  1. It's just odd to me that after the retune the sound switched from the drivers side to the passenger side. And that the sound is related to ambient temp and coolant temp.
  2. It has kooks catted y pipe. They are only 4months old and only have 1000miles on them. I tapped on the cats with a deadblow hammer looking for rattling and haven't found any.
  3. Hey guys I have an odd problem going on with my truck. I have a 2006 GMC Sierra Denali with the LQ9 engine, I installed an Vinci performance cam with specs of dur @.50" 220*/228* with 590/590 lift with 114*lsa. I have Kooks 1 7/8s long tube headers and Kooks catted Y pipe going into Corsa sport exhaust. I had Next Level Performance out of Orlando Florida do the tuning. I sent the truck to Geoff after the cam install to do the tune, he street tuned it and called me and had some recommendations of some minor things to change, which consisted of changing plugs from the stock a/c delco irdiums to ngk tr55s, change the thermostat to a 180* and run a few tanks of some BP 93 fuel. Geoff then said for me to bring it back after a few tanks of fuel to retune. While I was driving the truck after the first tune I noticed that I had a gargling/ rattling sound coming from the drivers side floorboard when the truck was not up to operating temp. I didn't think too much of it because it would go away after the truck got to operating temp and wasn't too bad, Well I took the truck back to Geoff at Next Level Performance after I completed his requested changes and a couple of tanks of gas. He did some adjustments and sent me on my way. A couple of days later I noticed the gargling sound had changed sides to the passenger side and had gotten louder. It only makes this gargling sound at idle when the truck isn't up to operating temp when the ambient temp outside is over 75*. If the ambient temp is lower than 75* the truck makes this sound at idle even after the truck has reached operating temp and will continue to for about 10mins worth of stop and go driving, then all of a sudden its gone. I have checked all the header pipe connections and re tightened them, it didn't make a bit of difference. I don't see anything loose around around the header Y pipe area. I can't figure this out myself. My next step is to contact Geoff and ask if he has herd of this and see if its a tuning issue. Does anyone have an suggestions or ideas as to what could be causing this? Thanks guys!
  4. Hey 03mass, on my previous truck, that was a 98 Chevy Tahoe four door. I had long tube headers, no cats, xpipe and dual magnaflows, black bear performance cable tune, k&n fipk II intake, and a mild cam and torque converter. The intake was ok but I was always concerned with the intake drawing in hot air from the engine bay and raising the IAT. Im also not to stoked on a specter intake because of the aluminum tube. Because I live in central Florida where it's easy to have 95-100 degree days with 90% humidity as well, the majority of my driving is city driving too. I just don't want to heat soak the intake tube.
  5. Hey everyone, I did a search on the forum and couldnt find what I was looking for. Is anyone running the stock air box with a less restrictive tube from the filter to the throttle body? If so where did you get it? I know I could make one if I really wanted but I would rather have a molded one with less bends and joints than what I could make. I don't want a full cai, Ive had them before and for the price I wasn't impressed. Espically since I saw the cai comparison sticky thread, with a stock intake with a drop in k&n filter coming in 3rd. Thanks guys.
  6. I have a 2006 Sierra Denali, my passenger headlight quit working today. I checked the bulb and it is fine and it works on the driver side, I checked and swapped the underhood fuses for the headlights and still no luck with getting the passenger side low beam bulb to work. I have checked the wiring from the bulb to the wiring harness and didnt see any noticeable breaks or loose wires. Any ideas on what to check? I dont have access to a volt or ohm meter either so I'm kind of working blindly on this.
  7. From what I understand the Denali is the same as the SS, just crew cab. All though my rpo codes say I have the z71 package.
  8. My 06 Denali is due for shocks soon. Just wanted to see what shocks everyone is running and how well do you like them? I'm at stock height and will more than likely remain at stock height. Post part numbers if you have them please.
  9. I can't upload a photo from my iPhone or can't figure it out.
  10. Just wanted to introduce myself to the board. I've been a member over at fullsizechevy.com and switched over to here. I use to own a 98 Chevy Tahoe four door with a 383 mild cam and a built 4L60. I recently purchased a 2006 GMC Sierra Denali and it's completely stock and it's driving me nuts! I really want to do a cam swap, torque converter, full exhaust and black bear performance tune. I am a GM ASEP student so funds are currently low. I've been creeping on the fourm for about two weeks now and decided to join. This forum is very helpful and I look forward to meeting other lq9 and AWD memebers.
