  1. word, people can still make their stuff look good without the badges. SS "clowns".
  2. As a point of reference, this is mine after 4000 miles on Mobil1. I've got Amsoil Severe Gear in it now, we will see how it does.
  3. I dropped the spare tire and will be doing a fluid swap in the rear diff. I really want to change out the ugly stamped steel cover but am having some problems deciding on a new one. I really like some of the new finned aluminum extra capacity ones but the parking brake cable bracket is giving me heartburn with fitment and being AWD I don’t see the point in bearing support girdle covers. Even though this is an off road jeep fanboy cover I really like the features overall with the magnetized dipstick and I think that I can make the bracket work if I shim the top bolt using an extended length bolt (the hole is recessed). What are other options that I haven’t considered?
  4. cleanest clown I've seen so far.
  5. As more trucks retire we will prolly end up like the 454 SS forums, older guys with garage queens exchanging detailing tips. It would be nice for GM to come up with an updated performance truck.
  6. Had an Airaid M.I.T. tube only but went with the GM. I really like the Banks Power C.A.I. as well.
  7. I considered that but went with Amsoil 75w-110 in the front today, also in the rear when my diff cover arrives.
  8. I'm removing mine tomorrow providing I can get past the secondary latch. It has not been driven in the rain so I'm optimistic lol. Thanks for the responses.
  9. Whether you do or don't what are your qualifiers?
  10. mine dropped in perfectly, you must have a clone just kidding, I'm sure it will work out.
  11. when you rub your truck it builds static no matter what wax or sealant you use, detail spray after helps to discharge the static. Zaino Z-8 Grand Finale is the best I've used so far.
  12. "haha" was for MY ignorance. I'm guessing it was for towing if only on the rear. Does it have a hitch?
  13. haha! no that is not stock either.
  14. As I understand it the shaft was redesigned several times before they got it right. Borgeson makes a pricey one as well. No side or second row air bags.
  15. The steering clunk is not a safety issue says GM so they didn't have to recall it. Go pick up GM part number 19153614 intermediate steering shaft and Google / YouTube installation instructions. It is super easy to install and I'm not mechanically inclined at all. Enjoy the new ride and welcome!
  16. Last summer I had one pass me on a two lane where his was ending (not racing). He was hard into it for a while and I had to let off the gas before his lane ended so as not to run him off the road. My wife even commented how long it took him get around us. I laughed and said tonight he would be posting on the SVT forum that he beat an SSS.
  17. I don't look for GM to respond with more than a pacifier concept like the 2005 Speedway Edition or the 2007 427 Silverado. They know the market is not there. The appeal is great for practically everyone on this forum but the actual buyer percent drops when they see the price tag compared to a more practical vehicle. If we are lucky they will come out with a compromise like an extended cab with fasteners for baby seats. Sound familiar?
  18. OPEC-YUM *edit, my bad on number of letters
  19. "SS 1500 LS" I'm suspicious this one may not be real, guys.
