  1. Hey guys, My master cylinder went out on friday and I cant FOR THE LIFE of me find a replacement one that fits. I have tried up and down 2 years, with discs, or drums, etc and I cant find one. The truck is an 05 silverado Vortec max wit the 6.0 and rear drums. The master cylinder has a total length just over 7.25 inches but everytime they try and look it up they come back with one thats about 9 inches long. i need my truck for work tomorrow. ANY info would be greatly appreciated. ALso, when napa looks up the VIN number it comes back as a truck having rear discs but they sure arent discs. Andy

  3. Hey guys quick question, I have an 05 silverado SS and yesterday I pulled the rear drum brakes apart to replace the shoes. My question is... On the brake self adjuster assembly, you have the end that has the adjuster gear closest to it, and on the other end ( the fork end that goes on the rear shoe) it has a long tooth and a short one, which side does the long tooth go on? the outer side towards the drum, or the inner side closer to the differential. When I took it apart it had the shorter side on the drum side and the long side towards the differential but for some reason I dont think this is correct because the self adjuster never seemed to work correctly, and I know that they have been done a few times since the truck was new. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Andy
  4. HAHAHA, the problems written right there on the label, you need a belt, not a "BANDA" hahaha J/K. My truck used to do that constantly, but I got a goodyear gatorback belt from autozone and it fixed the prob. They are a little more expensive but hey, ive had it on there for the last 50k and its been good :-) Andy
  5. hahaha hell yea :-)

  6. I beat a little metro guy in a 350z. Second best thing i have ever done in my SS.

  7. I know im probably beating a dead horse, but when I went to lunch after the truck had time to cool, and the engine temp was at about 25% on the temo gauge, I stood on it, and it was able to achieve 60+ lbs of oil pressure at about 4500 rpms. I know that the sender is located after the oil pump, filter, and cooler, so I am getting ample pressure to the rotating assy, but im starting to wonder if the oil weight im using could be having an effect on it. Im running 10w30 regular non synthetic with a crappy fram filter lol. I didnt wanna waste a k&n when i put this oil in to flush the motor out. Any thoughts? btw, my stepper motors should be here in a few days :-) :-) :-)
  8. i know its hard to rate tranny's but I do know that mine feels 100% different, and alot stronger. I had an 8000 lb boat hooked to it and it pulled it like it was nothing. Before it would shift strange and what not.
  9. I had this same dilemma back in july. My 4l65 went out, and youd be suprised bro. I yanked it out and took it to one of the local tranny shops that I have heard good stuff about and for 1600 bux he rebuilt the entire thing, but put in a billet sunshell, and billet input shaft along with upgraded clutches and bands and a reprogrammed upgraded valve body. He also gave me the option to go with a furnace brazed torque converter for 100 bux more so I eagerly did that. They guy was really cool to the point where he even gave me some cans of cooler line flush from his own stock and didnt charge me a dime for it. From my experience, some of the small mom and pop shops can be a diamond in the rough. Andy
  10. weird thing is that there arent any weird pinging, clicking, rattling, or tapping noises. It sounds perfectly normal through all the rpm's, but maybe thats because it hasnt ground apart completely yet, lol who knows.
  11. yea :-( im really starting to doubt that its a bad stepper motor, but I already bought a few so ill install one and see what happens.
  12. the $hitty thing is that while i was replacing everything else I went ahead and replaced the sending unit. I noticed a strange thing today while I was driving. Ill be doing like 80mph at 2100 rpms and the gauge will be reading about 30, and when I let off the gas to coast itll jump up to about 40 and sit there and then drop back down when the rpms come down, but I have NEVER seen a gauge increase when you let off the gas. I REALLLYYY hope the motor doesnt have an internal issue.
  13. I have gone up against a new tundra, I got him pretty good, but what I think is funny is theres a guy who lives by me who has this hideous maroon titan. Everytime he sees me he lines up next to me and gets his ass handed to him, lol the funniest was last time he tried he has one of those truck bed sized water tanks used for pesticide spraying in the back of his truck completely FULL, and he still thought he had a chance. Needless to say that made my day alot better when we stopped after I beat him and I saw his truck lunge foreward into the crosswalk after he had stopped because of the water sloshing. :-)
