If I move back to the northeast, the SS will be garaged. I'll find a throw down here in Florida (no rust!) before I go back for the winter months.

Yeah, that is the way life goes some times. I totally understand the hassle of the extended cab part. I had an avalanche before the SSS, and I truely do miss the full rear seat I used to have. That is my one and only complaint with the SSS. Oh, and the gas mileage. Mine will stay, but I have a spare vehicle for DD.

Im looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Good luck with the build.

Our trucks dont seem to be very well coated from the factory. Mine has always been well taken care of in the south and still had a lot of surface rust on the frame and steel under structures of the bumbers, etc. All I have done is crawl under and clean areas off and spray paint it. Not a real long term fix, but I dont drive min a lot and it still looks pretty good after a couple years. I've heard of guys using POR 15 and even powdercoating their frames. I'm not interested in going to that measure. A wire brush and some good rustoleum helped mine.

Nice man. If I were buying new and had my choice, a Denali truck would be it. Black though, it's faster.......

I agree as well. You will be better off with the Pioneer. I love mine.

I've seen it done in the past. Some of our trucks even have the wiring in the front frame rails for them. You just have to install a switch inside and I think program then into the computer. I've never done them myself, but I believe that is all that is required. I thought the looked okay. Hopefully someone will chime in to elaborate. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Congrats. You may as well be as miserable as the rest of us. Jk. Congrats for real. Marriage is one of the best things I ever did. Love her like she is leaving, and I guarantee she won't. Yes, I ripped that off a country song. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looked for it here in TN, but only had last month's issue. I'll keep looking for it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I agree. I have the AVH-8400bh and I did have to cut the bracket in the dash. Look your unit up on Crutchfield, and if it says "modified fit" you have to cut the bracket. Not a bad job, but that bracket is a tough sucker. I put the Pioneer XM module in my wife's trailblazer, and it was no problem to instal. I put it under her passenger seat. Routed the harness through the console. It's too big to mount in the dash. We had one of the modules go bad, and have occasional issues with it from time to time, which generally just require a reset, and it's fine. Only occurs occasionally though. Can be aggravating. If you can easily incorporate a factory module, I would go that route. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
