I don't know about Cali inspections. However my cam doesn't have a lot of lope and only guys that actually know these trucks can tell I have a cam, everyone else finds out when I get on the skinny pedal. My cam makes a huge amount of torque all the way to around 5000rpm then starts to tapper off. Also I have a Wheatley tune. My truck passed the Texas emissions test better this year then last year. I contribute that to the tune. I have a Bullet Racing cam. I believe they are located in Mississippi.Custom grind Dur @ .004 278/286Dur @ .050 222/222Lift .600/.600 114 or 115 LSA (I will have to look this up)I'm not sure on the overlap I think it is around 45-48* Hope this helpsGene

When mine did that is was the sending unit. Pain in the but to get to. You need tiny hands and a thin wall socket...

Thanks guys for the input. He is using HP Tuners. I will try and get a copy of the file but until then I will keep you posted. Good thing is the more I drive it the better it gets. I still get a stumble and it dies every once in a while. Just taking awhile to get the bugs worked out. All of these items are a good place to start.

It is set at 700rpm across the board. A/C on A/C off in gear and in park but the ECU over rides it if the high side a/c pressure gets to low. I know it is hard for me to explain but it does happen. Others my not have this problem because they also change out the torque converter and run the high idle already. I still have a stock converter. With the fans off it does not do this, then I put the fuses back in and it starts again.

I understand all of this but can you actually change the readings of the high and low side of the a/c readings so it doesn't try to bump up the rpms to get the high side readings higher.

Do you self a favor, here is what I did to save some $$$. Just take take the shaft off and pull the tube down all the way until the little plastic piece insde jams in the bottom. I actually just held it and tryed to sling it out. After this I used some white lithium grease and applied it into the bigger side. then reinstalled it and have not had any trouble since. This was done October of 08 still works great. Hope this helps. Also do a search some other guys have done the same thing.

I recencly changed from the 5.3 to an LQ9 with a cam and some other upgrades like electric fans and 34" rad. Here is the problem. With the a/c off it idles great. With the a/c on after it cycles through a couple of times it jumps the idle up from 700rpm to the 800-850 range. Well the guy tunning it for me said to pull the fuses on the fans to see if the high side pressure was getting to low because of the fans and the truck was bumping up the rpm to raise the high side pressure. Have any of you had experiance with this? If so what did you do? My first thought is to change the wiring harness out to one that is controled by the ECU, or is their some other way to change it in the tune.

My cam is 222/222 .600/.600 114 or 116 lsa can't remember. Mine is a TR billet custom grind with quick lift. I't doesn't sound to have much lope at all but it has huge power and at idle you can tell it is there.

Cool, glad it worked. When I tried the bolt on the firewall just cut up my hand. I got mad & tossed the socket in the top of the tool box and called it a day.

If anyone even cares I'm trying to finish me CC clone build... First off adding a 500hp LQ9 to a 4x4 is awesome (I Had no idea how much more power the 6.0 had) .. Well here is my problem. I have made everything look stock but I'm missing the 5.3 emission sticker from under the hood. (Blasted car wash) I figured what is the chance of getting the one from a 2004 VHO. does anyone mind giving me the p/n off of theirs( so i can get one from the dealership). It should be listed in the lower right hand corner. Thanks in advance!

What; no VHO love???? I guess we are back to the Extreme S10 - ZQ8 Sonoma deal again. They are the same truck with out body mods! I bet this will go over like a lead balloon.
