  1. Thanks guys. Purchased one online today.
  2. Looking for a stock tailgate spoiler for my 03 SSS. Mine was damaged while transporting a cal flame stainless steel BBQ. My truck is black. Please let me know if you know of one for sale or where I can purchase one online. Thanks!
  3. I had the same question a few months ago and went with Dan's advice. I've been very happy with my Taylor 409's (Red) and AC Delco Plugs! It's the right advice.
  4. Thanks bud, it's always the simple things that getcha!!
  5. This story comes to an end!! Moral of the day: Solutions are usually found in the simple things (at least that's my moral of the day)!! I took the truck back to the tech at the GM dealer and he was convinced it was an issue with the Volant CAI. So, he checked it up and down. He was right.... As it turns out, the part of the tube connected to the throttle body had separated from the rubber gasket. It wasn't visible because it separated at the bottom part of the tube. You could feel the gap when you ran your finger underneath but it wasn't visible from the top. Total rookie oversight. Truck is running outstanding and no more codes!!!!!! Can't wait to receive the tune from Wheatley. It shipped yesterday!! Thanks a lot for all of your help and thoughts.
  6. I bought the truck used so I don't know for sure but there is a good chance it's never been changed...
  7. I had originally thought that I may have over oiled the filter in the Volant and as a result had messed up the MAF. I considered switching to the power core because of it.. Is there any noticeable difference with the power core. I spoke with a rep from Volant and he mentioned a 3hp loss by switching to the power core.
  8. The tech checked the fuel system including the fuel pump on his GM handheld and everything appears normal. I forgot to mention in my post that I've also run a fuel system cleaner (the stuff your pour into the gas tank). I'm going to try doing the spray test today while the engine is cold to see if I can find leak in the intake manifold. I'll post my findings..
  9. I've been throwing a lean code on both banks (P0171 and P0174) for over a month now on my daily driver 2003 SSS. I stopped in my local Chevy dealer and fortunately found a very knowledgeable and helpful tech that has been trying to help me trouble shoot the problem in his "freetime" between jobs. So far, we've tried cleaning the MAF, replacing the MAF for a new stock [Delphi], spraying the intake manifold with BG intake cleaner (e.g. spray test), and downloading a software update for the PCM. The spray test showed no indication of a leak in the intake manifold. The test was performed while the engine was warm and I plan to redo the test when the engine is cold. All of the clamps on the Volant are tight. The diagnostic on the techs GM handheld is continuing to show both banks lean. O2 sensors are reading normal and so is the trucks other systems. The truck is running great with no noticeable issues. More info about the truck.... 116,000 orig. miles. Engine Mods are Volant CAI, Dyna Tech Headers, Magna Flow Exhaust, High Flow Cats, 180 Stat. Engine mods have been in for awhile (since the truck had around 14,000 miles). In addition, I've recently installed new Taylor 409 wires, and new AC Delco Iridium's Plugs. Just this week Wheatley programmed a tune and is on the way.... I'm completely stumped [and frustrated] on what could be causing the two lean codes. I would like to have the issue resolved before I receive and install the Wheatley tuned PCM. And, I have to take a 3,000+ mile trip with the truck next week and hate to do it with that check engine light glowing in my face! Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Dear Zippy: What are the complaint proceedures for filing a complaint when a member of www.silveradoss.com has grievence against an adminstrator? I think it would be best for all of the members of the web site if personalities are left out of this and the issue at hand is focused on. Please post the appropriate proceedures so that the members may hopefully have some closure to this issue. Thank you.
  11. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." When did your first amendment rights become revoked?
  12. Thanks a lot for the help and for welcoming a newbe like me to the site. I've read some your posts and they have been very informative and helpful. I'm going to exchange the NKG Laser Iridium's for the AC Delco's (41-985). I'll have a lot more peace of mind and save some $$$. It didn't feel right forking out all that money for some plugs.
