  1. Mobil 1 is what I use. Sounds like you got a great deal on the diff.
  2. Congrats on a safe trip. I assume that you are relocating? The SS looks mighty cold.
  3. I bought them from Rock Auto when I did my brakes. Front and rear are the same washer. AC Delco # 21012386 38 cents for 10 Dorman # 484180. 46 cents for 10 I've also found them at O'Riely's, (The Dorman ones.) Rock Auto's listing for the Dorman washers has this for the size; Inside Dia: 10.3mm; Outside Dia.; 16.91mm; Thickness: 1.2mm And you'r right; Aluminum is a terrible idea for this app. Don't know if this link will show up correctly but here ya go https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chevrolet,2003,silverado+1500,6.0l+v8,1412042,brake+&+wheel+hub,hydraulic+hose+to+caliper+/+banjo+bolt+washer,13613
  4. Dadgumit! I been thinking about this since you first posted it. Finally decided to message you and ask a few ? about it. Congratulations on the sale. Ya snooze, ya lose.
  5. Way to go brother. Did you change the fluid out to full synth on the replacement diff? What did you have to give for the Denali diff, if you don't mind my asking?
  6. Looks like Dallas is a hot bed for intimidator's. It'd be interesting to see what # 2 eventually sells for.
  7. Welcome aboard Reggie Congratulations on finding your truck.
  8. Thanks for posting up the info on the bulbs and how to go about installing them, Richard. Nice table top, by the way.
  9. Try a search. These are real popular on our trucks and a ton of guys have added them. There was a member making mounting brackets for them, too.
  10. Apparently a common problem. https://www.google.com/search?q=Rear+window+wind+noise+%2F+Silveradoss.+com&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1 Could be the unlucky 7% had a worst case of this problem than most have.
  11. The 7% may have misdiagnosed the cause of their noise. My noise was reduced with the new window latches, but my door hinge pins are worn allowing the door to sag witch doesn't allow the weather stripping to seal properly. There was a member, years ago, who took his rear doors apart and re-set the window frame itself. He said that, at least in his case, the window was not installed correctly. Couldn't find that old how to but check out the seventh post in this link http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/8510-tsb-for-rear-window-noise/
  12. My weatherstripping looks fine, too, and I keep it dressed with rubber treatment. I installed the new window latches. They helped some. (soaking them in warm water will help with install). https://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=Wind+Noise+fix+2000+2006+chevy+vent+window+latch+&_itemId=250708287892 My next step is replacing the door hinge pins. I've owned several of this era truck and they tend to wear the pins.
  13. That how to link was the one I was going to post up, too. It's a good one. Thank's for the added bulb info. Where you giong to get Radio Shack stuff? They're gone, around here. (Bankrupt).
  14. Not unheard of. The case can get worn out of shape to the point where a new seal won't fit tight and will still leak. As far as I know the fix is a new tail housing.
  15. Welcome aboard, congrats on the truck. Post up some pic't if you can. There have been a number of members trucks sold in Florida. Maybe a past owner will recognize it and answer some questions.
  16. Congrats on finding your low mileage truck. Black is the fastest color, by the way. You did good.
  17. Sounds like it's about time to put it out of it's misery. The doors rattling over bumps might be the hinge pins. My truck doors rattle, too, and my pins are worn. I know; Drop in the bucket but ya gotta start somewhere.
  18. Man! I'd forgotten all about that wreck. Sure glad to hear your doing better.
  19. My point about replacing the heating element is that; If the cover has been on long enough to look like that, the heater element has seen a lot of wear also. You don't want to go through the trouble and effort of replacing the cover only to have the heater element fail in another year and have to do it all over again. I have replaced the seat bottom cover and, while it's not a really tough job, It's not one I'd line up to do every month or so.
  20. Welcome to the site, and the SS world. What the heck did they do to the headliner? That is just plain WRONG. Change the heater element when you replace the seat cover. (You can find the seat covers on ebay). The drivers door control panel could ude a little double sided tape. Easy fix.
  21. The place is pretty nearly unrecognizable, lately. I recognize a few guys over on PT.net.
  22. Good luck sorting it out. As prone to failure as these stepper motors are, it seems possible that the surge from connecting the new battery may have zapped a weak one.
