  1. The roll pan and the bowtie lights are probably illegal, but they still look bad @ss
  2. I am ordering one from customclassic.com and the guy said he can make one that will fit on the SS and connect to the rear SS body molding, but reccomends that no matter what you do or who you go through, it still should be fiberglassed in to make it smooth. The BSER one looks awesome, but in my opionion, if your going to go custom, go all the way and fiberglass it in to make it smooth and eliminate that gap. Also, I would make sure to get a steel pan.
  3. Thanks everyone for the interest in my project. I wont be doing the pockets in the bed because I have a toneau cover that covers that all, and I am not selling the tailgate handle because its just getting relocated on the inside. The drivers side door handle was not in good shape, so its already trashed, all thats left is the passenger door handle and I dont have a neeed for it, so its free to whoever needs it.
  4. I have an 05 Silverado SS that I am in the process of shaving. I will be shaving the door handles, tailgate, third brake light, and the tail lights. I am ordering these bowtie led lights that will be frenched in to the roll pan. I havent found anyone yet that has put a smoothed in roll pan yet for an SS, so I am going to weld one to the truck and then fiberglass it into the side SS body kit. The BSER ones still show a gap. They look good, but I want to do a one of a kind tyoe of thing. I am doing a lot of things that I havent seen done on these trucks yet, so I am excited to show it off and post pics when it is finished. I would guess and say 2-3 weeks till its done. I am also thinking about putting one of those universal sunroofs in it. It wont be electric, but it will be better than nothing. I am also putting 22 inch black wheels with a polished lip to match the polished SS emblems on it. Oh yeah, almost forgot. I am also going with ghost flames coming off the hood and going down the fenders. I know that I want them to be real subtle. There is a guy that is just awesome at airbrushing at the shop where this transformation is taking place.
  5. I will be at Bike week in Daytona. Chime in if anyone else plans on showing up. I have yet to meet another SS owner. I have and still am in Afghanistan for the past year, but I still dont remember ever seeing one. I purchased mine about 4 months ago on craigslist. I cant wait to meet other owners. Thanks for your time and let me know if we can schedule a gathering.
  6. Are you going to post the "How To"? I know you said that you will post pics when the job is finished. I need to do the same and the how to would be a big help. Thanks
  7. I was wondering if anyone wants to meet up in the watertown,ny area at the end of the month or beginning of January. I am returning from Afghanistan in a couple weeks and wanted to meet up with some other members. I purchased an SS a few months ago and still havent had the opportunity to drive it. If there is enough people in the area that are SS owners, then maybe we can set something up. Thanks for your time.
  8. I have an 05 AWS Silverado SS and the guy I bought it from said it was lowered in the back, but I see no sign of lowering unless he removed a leaf spring. How many are there supposed to be. Mine has 3. Please let me know if he was so dumb and cheap as to do it that way. Thanks
  9. Thank-you everyone for the warm welcome. I will be home hopefully in November and I am stationed at Fort Drum, NY.
  10. Hello everyone. I am new here. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, but I still was able to buy my SS. I sent the $ back home and I had someone pick it up for me. I cant wait to come home and drive it. I am married, I have 2 daughters, Im stationed in NY(not for much longer), and I am originally from fl. I have a harley and a GSXR and my wife drives an HHR and a GSXR. My truck already has 22 inch TIS rims, a fiberglass tonneu cover, and a couple other little upgrades. I have already started ordering stuff for my truck that is just waiting for me to install. I am a mechanic. This seems like a great forum, and I cant wait to be part of it and contribute.
