I need a gm service advisor/manger... On 2003 SSS dose a Bose amp need programming after install?? I work for a dealer that owns gm. They say it dose but can't tell me if they need factory radio installed or not...so went to a independent gm dealer and they said no programming nesscary so can someone please correctly inform me I'm a service advisor for Chrysler and Nissan and ik on thos factory amps are plug n play

Not a service adviser but from my experience the amp should be plug and play since it is simpley an amp. The stock deck is what needs to be programmed usually.

Just got a price from a local shop to get my front 2 seats redone. There using the better quality leather and going to put new padding in for 1000 bucks. What do you guys think about that price? Good deal ?

You can buy nice replacement lower seat covers for like $200 each and the back rests too if need be. Check out ebay and do it yourself, thats what I would do.

Just ordered Belltech SP shocks and a 3in rear hanger kit, so now my 2/2 will be a leveled 2/3in drop. Thanks again NorcalSS.

Truck is done and runs great! Drove it to work the last two days, but now its -40 and i have to wait for it to warm up again before i go out and start it. Break-in oil gets THICK in cold weather. Haha once i get a good amount of miles, ill switch to a full synthetic.

Has anyone installed just 2" rear shackles on there SS to level out the look? If So do you have any pictures? Im looking at different lowering options.

I've got the 2" lowering shackles on my truck. Works great and an easy way to lower it just a bit.

Kinda sad, Most Chevys silverado's 99-06 i look over at while in traffic at night 70% of the time, they have a check engine light on... kinda sad, maybe its an alaskan thing

I've noticed the same thing your probably right just a Ak thing... I've also noticed many other car/trucks up here with check engine lights on too!

I sure hope not I havn't had the best of luck with it! Me and my friend just gave it a full detailing after I replaced the water pump and belt so maybe it will feel better now.. LOL

I don't think it did any other damage, nothing a coolant flush, water pump, belt and oil change can't fix.

Yeah its an easy fix but I didn't expect it at all for as many of these LS based trucks that I have worked on I have never seen a water pump seize up. There are aluminum flakes all around it. Seems like the bearing seized to the pump shaft and spun in the housing.

So after getting my truck back from getting front diff serviced, i noticed my front end sitting kinda high on drivers side. I measured and my drivers side front sits 5/8's higher than passenger front =/

Replaced both my heated seat elements today on my drivers seat, so now I have a heated seat again! The old ones were burned/shorted out bad!

DORMAN Part # 641106 is the back rest and DORMAN Part # 641105 is the seat bottom. There pretty seat to change. I'll see if I can make a How-To in the how to section later tonight.

New windsheild in the SS, no more giant cracks and chips! So nice, looks like a new truck.

My last one lasted from 2009 to 2011 so about 3 years! Not to bad and when I bought the truck in 2009 it still had the factory GM windshield.... lol

Doesn't leak and looks great. Cost me $180, I know the glass is cheap by itself the install is expensive...
