How’s everyone doing!? I was absolutely blown away when I checked out the new videos on Hoovies Garage , YouTube the other day and he got a black 2005 Silverado SS AWD for like 5k! Came from a east coast person who bought it to restore or customize and financially was unable too so he sold it to Hoovie for a deal. They did a quick check out at his mechanic shop and it’s not in bad shape so they said that they want to make it a project for their YouTube channel and make it fast and supercharge it in such.
I was so unbelievably excited when I seen that video and heard them talking about a truck that I have been in love with for almost 20 years! I still will look at mine and say out loud “wow that’s the most beautiful truck GM has ever made still to their date. My heart still will skip a beat or a few everyone I see one driving or a picture even. Was glad to see the one me they got is nice. I feel like if Hoovie gets deep into the production info and numbers here and sees how rare some combos are, it will hopefully effect the value positively in the future. With markets crazy all over who knows.
Anyone watch these videos or follow Hoovie? Anyone have thoughts on this?

Love love the ceramic coatings and looks like you did your research since Kamakazi is one of the best there is. What coating from them did u go with? They have one called zipang I think that’s pretty expemsive but it’s a super badass one they only make in batch’s. Assuming cause of the high content Si02 it has. Believe it is even semi self healing too. I live in Columbus Ohio and place right by me called Esoteric fine auto finishing a is one of the only retailers in the US for it. They also install and do the STEK clear wraps too. Hope to work there one day.
@Thing1 do I remember right you are from Columbus area?
@Silverado_George You can find someone qualified to do a real good wetsand and polish. It will take a while and it likely will be a bit pricy since the time involved but deff a way cheaper option than a whole repaint. Best to find someone who’s obsessive about it and will enjoy doing it. Where u located?

Could always add a mini notch to the rear to alleviate the bottoming out also. Probly start with stock shackles in rear as there cheapest option. And likely easiest for you to do stock torsion keys and get stock spindles. Leave the lower a arms cause Id say it's easiest for alignment reasons. I got some stock keys in garage if you want try them just let me know and cover shipping and I'll throw them in mail. Hell I got some stock spindles on my truck we can swap too after try the keys. Glad to see new users finding this site and all the info it offers. Congrats on the sss btw!

Still got anything left? I'm very intrested in the grille, door handles and possibly the taillights if there in good condition still. My stock taillights are doing that peeling inside crap.

Very true. I do got extra tweeters but the little speaker covers for them are lighter grey than the sss very dark pewter color since they are from a subrurban. If you have your stock tweeter covers they will clip in to them.

You dont need to tune the truck with headers. it will still perform normally if you use the O2 delete so your SES light doesnt come on.
Were you implying doing just the rear O2 delete in the computer with this? Then doing a FULL tune later? Cause I plan on doing long tubes here soon also. I always assumed if I'm gonna mail my computer out or find a local tuner I could trust, I may as well do full tune. Never thought about sending out just for the O2 delete.
I planned on attempting the trick with the spark plug extenders that move the O2 further out of the pipe and exhaust air flow to limit the air they get and give a false "good" reading. Haven't read anything on it regarding the SSS or with long tubes, or even anything as new as these trucks. Just remember it from back in the day. May not work at all and figured chances are 50/50 but worth a shot for a few dollar part to attempt it.
Back to original post.... I new, good write up would be cool cause not too much info easy to find about the factory true duels and diff ways to set it up. Seen some info about running a X pipe, H pipe, regular connect to stock intermediates, new everything all way out with with some with cutouts and mufflers and some without, even some people just remove it all and add a Y pipe and run single. I plan to delete my cats so I wouldt mind a setup to just connect them right to stick exhaust as it is, for now at least. Don't see any of those setups offered really and figured that way would be on you to have a exhaust shop figure it out I guess. Idk. I really like and leaning towards the speed engendering full true duel X pipe kit for $400 but gonna have to wait to get that till after headers. What's everyone's opinions and what setups have you ran or tried out or liked/disliked with them?

I had a tailgate lock and mine got stolen. not hard to get off. Even a alarm wont do much good. These trucks that have been stolen have had alarms ad been dis armed in a few minutes with no siren going off. These are professional thieves, and then they get towed away. But my suggestion is to get a alarm regardless and have it hidden very well, along with a tracking device that only you and the installer know about like Low Jack. I dont mean in the dash, Somewhere like inside the frame where its hard to get to and spot.
Dont park it outside, keep it garaged if you can, dont take it shopping or leave it unattended. Wheel locks are easily removed all the time by just going to a parts store and getting the tool, say if you lost your lock. The club can be cut, Thats all old news. thieves are always with the times of new technology and thats how they get away. I didnt let mine out of my sight. If I was going to have to, I would take another vehicle.
Man I can't agree with this anymore! I'm excited to get my SS out finally for a full season since I got a real one and it kinda sucks cause I know it will barley go anywhere. Simply can't risk it. I drove it to store a few times and within minutes I'm leaving cause I'm nervous about it sitting unattended. Anywhere I go, even when I had my rcsb clones, was somewhere I could always see them. Sucks we have to be so damn cautious cause these thieves out there. I always remembered growing up with my dad if we went to eat somewhere he requested a window seat where he could see his truck or car. Always laughed cause we assumed it was to just admire a nice ride he worked hard on. Now we have to do that just as a precaution. Hell, I even seen a member on Instagram (diaclow) that came home and her house was broke into and her rcsb autocross race truck was stolen from the garage in the process. Didt even have a dash or interior in it so had to be loaded up on trailer in pure daylight. Obviously came for truck and house items were a bonus. Unbelievable and terrible you can barley enjoy something and not drive it if you have to leave it unattended for more than 5-10 min.

Man I bet you still had the SS flood lights in the doors and the SS door still plates on there too. Damn I gotta hunt down all that stuff. Too bad insurance took it.

I've drilled a hole in the firewall and put in a rubber grommet on last 2 trucks I've had. First one I had, I went with the stock wiring harness where a main group of wires went through with the large rubber plug. Also seen few others, where people have managed to push through with the stock wiring or even make a super tiny cut in the rubber of the main harness and go through there. I prefer making a separate hole with the rubber grommet now tho and will always likely do any more that way. You can make it fit nice and snug and install in the best location for your setup

I remember a how to thread here about just cutting a nub off won't make it much better and you have to drill holes in the bump stop all the way around. I removed the bump stop brackets and just mounted the poly shorter ones in the center hole on frame and don't ride bad but im only 2" drop in rear with shackles right now. See what happens when get the other 2" from hangers.
Also I've installed the Tahoe rear sway bar on a few trucks I've had that were lowered 2"-4" and it helps out. Have some pics of my reg cab I backed It in a buddies driveway and had the driver rear wheel hanging almost all way off and still stayed pretty straight and wasent touching frame on either side. Plus you get the ride enhancement. I already got another Tahoe rear bar and the brackets for my SS ready to go cause it makes it drive and handle sooo much better/diff in my opinion. One of my fav upgrades to do 110%, and can you get the Tahoe rear bar for anywhere around $20-$100 usually and hardware for $50-$60 so not expensive either.

Man all that stuff sounds like it was yesterday. I seen a guy on Instagram post about the new sss calender and was like wtf!?!? But I guess they do something on Facebook and now Ima have to finally make one. :/. But damn I'd love for a shirt or hat group buy. And now I need the flood lights for the doors and sills and all that since I got a real SS and it's gonna be a job tracking down people to try and talk them into making some or even finding sets.

So these work with the aftermarket urethane ISS style spoiler? And are made so the end parts will bolt on instead of just stick on with 3m tape, (assuming that's how they are attached)? I think I recall them mounting without drilling holes in bedside or am I wrong? And are they just for the end bed peices or something for the middle part too?
