  1. I can't believe how well they are holding their values now. I sold my 2004 black SS w/22's for $16K two years ago and have been missing it, so looking around the site, I guess I should have held onto it afterall.
  2. 2004 Chevrolet Silverado SS. I am the second owner of this truck. It was originally purchased in August 2004 and I bought it in April 2005 with 8,500 miles, it currently has 75,000 miles. I am a very meticulous owner, washed, changed fluids and put 93 Octane in it religiously. This truck comes very well equipped with the following options plus my add ons: 6.0L V8, 345 stock HP All wheel drive AEM cold air intake Power/heated leather seats Cruise, power everything Auto dimming mirrors Tinted Windows Remote Starter Linex type bedliner 22” Verde Rims/tires Comes with winter Cadillac Escallade rims/tires for winter Baer cross drilled/slotted rotors on front It truly is a great truck, is in excellent condition and I’m going to miss it, but I’ve had it long enough and don’t need a truck anymore. Feel free to call or email with any questions. Pictures wouldnt load, you can find one at craigslist posting 1692596885. I'm looking to get $16,000 Zach at 518-505-2438
  3. where's DFW? I'm in upstate NY and have a black '04.
  4. I had a slight coolant leak coming out near my water pump, so I had it replaced. Turns out it was just a gasket and the pump is fine, but since the mechanic went that far into it, I had a new one put in anyway. The truck has 73,000 miles and I don't know the common life expantency of these pumps, but it should go atleast another 30kmiles. If anyone is interested, PM or call me, i'm looking to get $80 plus shipping costs for it. Thanks, Zach 518-505-2438
  5. GM, actually, it doesnt look like you're too far from me, less than 3 hours. If you're interested, perhaps I can drive it to you for the diff rebuild and 2/3 drop? It looks like yours is sitting nicely.
  6. Thanks for the input guys. I dont think I need a complete rebuild, it just sounds like a bearing is going bad, but it's still driving. GM, are you interested in doing the rebuild if I shipped it to you? It's not something that needs to be done ASAP, but would be nice to have it back within a month.
  7. Does anyone have some instructions/how to do a rebuild on the front differentials? I have an 04 SS that I believe has chewed up some bearings and I would like like to figure out what parts/kit I would need for the rebuild and also looking for any advise of what or what not to do. Thanks
  8. I'm most likely going to fix before I sell, but if i'm honest about what's wrong with it, why not say it's for sale as-is, with stating the current problems?
  9. so, i've just discovered that my front differential is acting up, it makes a sound like I have a bad wheel bearing when I'm on the gas and it goes away when I let off the gas. Bad, but still driveable. Bottom line is I really dont feel like fixing it, so i'm seeing if anyone is interested in buying for $14,500 as-is. It currently has about 74K miles, and cadillac escalade rims on it for the winter. I will add the 22's in the picture for another $1,500 (looks like the pic wont post, email me for pix at [email protected]). I'm the second owner of this truck, I bought it in 05 and it's been great, but like i said, i just dont feel like fixing something chevy should have gotten right in the first place. Let me know if any interest and I can give more details. Zach 518-505-2438 (upstate NY)
  10. I'm getting a slight bearing wear out noise in my front differential. I dont know if I want to fix or just sell the thing. I love the truck, but hate chevy's make everything cheap mentality. Anyway, is your front differential for sale? If I have to buy new, I may be trading in for toyota. Please let me know if willing to part it and ship to upstate ny. thanks Zach 518-505-2438
  11. I just checked this link because I just started hearing a noise in my front differential (04 SS). It's not very loud if i'm not on the gas at all, but once i put a slight load on it, even just to maintain speed in town, it sounds like a wheel bearing wearing out. Is this common for these trucks? Any idea how much of a bill i'm looking at if I bring straight into chevy dealer? Anyone interested in buying my truck before I do the repairs? I'll take $15K as she's sitting.
  12. thanks, I read a couple other posts and i'm convinced its the cat. Hopefully it'll last the 1,500miles i have to put on it first so I can do a bike track day this weekend.
  13. Hey Guys, I have an 04 SS with approx 70,000 miles and it just started developing a slight knocking in the exhuast, which appears to be coming from the driver side Cat converter. It was quiet and seldom at first, now it's frequent and louder, sounds like someone's lightly tapping a hammer from the inside of the exhaust. Has anyone else had this problem?
  14. I had this problem with mine around the same mileage. I believe I ended up having to get a new fuel pump and some electrical harnesses. I think the harness shorted out the fuel pump, which caused the stalls. Didn't seem too bad at first, then started stalling as I came off the highways, so, shutting down going 60 around corners, makes it tough to steer when you lose power steering. I can go back and figure out exactly what was replaced if you need.
  15. Hey guys, I'm a new member and was just reading this topic. I'm not sure if you have enough signed up for the package rates, but I needed to get new rotors and brakes for mine. I would love to do a Z06 brake upgrade. I havent seen the final price though, is it under $1,500 to have all rotors/calipers/brackets/and anything else i'm missing replaced? If so, count me in. I'm not sure if it matters, but I have 22" rims and also plan on doing a 2/3 drop while I have the truck in the garage for repairs. Thanks
