Another forum has "view unanswered posts" and "view active topics" buttons right at the top of the page. Kinda nice to just click right when you log in and see whats goin' on, or maybe its here and I just haven't discovered it yet

Has anyone ever swapped in a 6 speed? I drove a 2500HD 8.1 6 speed that was jacked up a little and had some mud tires on it but it was still a fun ride. Just wondering if it's possible, I haven't seen any yet, but I assume if it is possible someone on here has done it.

My friend has a 2000 that i just had the steering column apart on to replace the ignition switch and the first thing i saw when i got it opened up was the wires to the tow/haul button were broken, there was enough wire hanging out that i could solder it back together, CHEAP FIX, too bad the ignition switch wasn,t that easy, hope this helps i don't know how much different the column internals are from year to year but its worth a shot!

I finally registered cuz I'm on here alot getting a little more hooked every time. I'm 25, ASE Master certified mechanic, I was doing new car setups at a Chevy dealership a few years ago and I got to put the first few miles off the transport on an 04 SS I've been hooked ever since and recently started looking. I haven't bought one yet, but I will as soon as I'm not worried about still having a job. Im searching for a blue 04 Silverado SS but blue seems to be hard to find around here so I may settle for red. My current vehicle is a 86 Cutlass Supreme swapped in a 305 H.O. (H.ilarrious O.utput) factory rear end gears are 2.14 ...yep it's slow..but it looks good and it pulls my 78 Kawasaki 440 stand up jet ski pretty well, but i think it would look better hooked to an SS. Anyway as soon as I buy one I'll post pics, til then I'll be on the sidelines trying to decide what mods I'm going to do. I'm thinkin SUPERCHARGER and of course trans upgrades.
