  1. i knew that post was worthless with out a vid but when i went to use my flip video it was dead so ill get one tomorrow. took it out for the first time to start break in procedure and it just wont stay alive when in gear when i come to a stop, same thing in reverse i have to give it gas and break when i stop . i logged the first drive and sent it to zippy to get it ironed out thing sounds sooo beast! got some tuning to do but im excited!
  2. this!?!? and now you have a totaled truck since the frame has been hacked up. the effort is great but there are so many different options out there for headers that fit like a glove.
  3. will (04_silverado_ss i think is his screen name) has one in his reg. cab clone, i recently bought one from them also but dont have it in yet. they were awesome to work with and have been very good as far as their customer service so far. ATK told me my 408 should handle 1200hp with no problems.
  4. i remember when i got my first blower , i was so excited too!
  5. i dont know nothing about boats and im not going to pretend to like you do with so many things on this site. this thread was started about the heads which i had nothing negative to say about, i love innovation , i think its great. but of course you come start spitting off a bunch of non-sense that i call out and you loose your cool. only thing i stated was about how much of a bargain it was for the motor at 200k... and im butt hurt because of it? troll on "BRO"
  6. What a bargain at 148$ per HP. People spending 200k on a motor that only makes 1350hp needs to have their heads checked.
  7. 5psi would = 40 psi on what we have now.... daaaayyymm sounds like Mercury has it all figured out, what is the rest of the world doing...
  8. GM has been working on over head cam/cams set ups for a while. i thought we would have seen it in the c7 but i think it will be on the c8 for sure.
  9. You should get your pants back from your wife... lol
  10. man i will be real happy with a 1.7 60ft, hopefully i can get it.
  11. nice! your 60ft's are awesome , how did chases ctsv run?
  12. you better be trapping over 120mph if your going to mess with a z06 on the freeway ... lol even then the odds are not in your favor .
  13. oh and the zr1 is good if your running the ls3 style intakes (im running the ls3 holley high ram) because the map sensor will line up perfect with the hole/port & screw hole it goes in.
  14. you'll need one of these too for that sensor , 109103 LS1/LS2 to LS3 MAP ADAPTER , http://www.casperselectronics.com/store2/product_info.php?cPath=54&products_id=1622 hows the resolution on the 3.3? i got the zr1 one because zippy recommended it.
  15. the part number for the zr1 map is 12592525 http://www.jdpmotorsports.com/genuine-gm-zr1-3-bar-map-sensor-12592525
  16. Interesting I'll see what they mean on Monday I guess. On a side note I drained the tank yesterday in prep to get some new fuel in there that e85 was in there for over a year. I used the pumps to drain the tank so I know they still work. IM getting excited hoping to get the motor dropped in Monday night. I'll be waiting on push rods and a tune from zippy before I can fire her up.
  17. im hoping it will build boost fast and be a monster off the line as i know the top end will be killer. i called tooley to get a cam and they recommended there stage 4 turbo cam off the shelf. they said with the high comp. 408 and this cam that it should lite the turbo fast but he said it was on the smaller side for a 408 but should work out good since its going into a truck so will see how it does, i think ill have more power then i need any way... lol. i bought the short block from ATK out of texas assembled , i dont know the first thing about measuring and assembling a short block so i thought i would leave it to the professionals lol plus for the deal they gave me it was hard to pass up. as far as the windage tray i was going to spacer it but when i was measuring it, it put the oil pick up tube really close to the bottom of the pan which i wasnt happy with because you have to space it like a 1/2 inch at least to clear the rod bolts at the deepest stroke so i figured just get the right part for the job and be done.
  18. Its a 10.3:1 408 , LSA heads, LS9 gaskets,ARP studs,stage 4 turbo cam from Tooley, melling oil pump , etc... just waiting on a 4"stroke windage tray , valve covers and a 3 bar map.
  19. getting close. im just waiting on a couple things to show up to be able to bolt everything up and drop her in... thought you guys might like some pics...
  20. Is it the wire that connects to the hood from the fire wall? Only wire I know of that could fall on top of the motor.
