  1. I paid way too much and ordered it from a local audio shop, that make all their money by ripping people off, just google "power trunk kit" or.... click here: http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/autoloc/pro...inc=powertrunks
  2. Hello gents, I shaved my tailgate a while back, and with the flip kit, I had trouble with carrying loads in my bed with the handle on the inside. I also bought a bed rug and I really didnt want to cut it up, so I took the factory handle out. I rolled for a while with just the rods and pulled them when I needed my tailgate down, I even zip tied them together and used my bed cover to keep it up, but I didnt want to stress my tailgate and my cover any more. Later on I will install some pullys so I can engage both sides of the tailgate instead on one side. I also added a cig plug on a 30 amp fuse, so I can run my inverter for music etc when going to the beach. I ordered a power trunk kit for a car, I really only needed the selenoid, but I ended up using about the whole kit. For power and ground, I ran 8 gauge amp wire 20 feet from the battery and 5 feet to the frame ($25) Have distribution block for power and ground My home movie: http://s703.photobucket.com/albums/ww40/ti...nt=MVI_1260.flv Here are the pics:
  3. my buddys is a big ford guy, and he is giving me crap cause my truck looks like a lightning now.
  4. Oh yea, forgot to add this is a 4.8 for now, but after deployment going to be moving up in displacement size.
  5. I didnt count the thrush cause it was already on there from before, but thats about how much they run if someone would buy one.
  6. Wanted a performance ehaust system but on the cheap, Thrush glass pack muffler $22, Polished stainless tuner tip $27, new tubing, bent welded and installed $75.
  7. I was going to do that, but thats the same as not having the engine shield. I plan on cutting a 3-4 inch hole through the bottom plate and the plexi and running a tube down to my lower valance so when I drive, cold air is forced into the box. Right now I am just pulling air from between my headlights, but kinda holding off may change to a ram air hood.
  8. Pretty easy to do just keeps warmer air from getting under your engine shield, so you get colder air from your headlights. Cost about 2.50 from home depot for the plexi glass, but could use other materials. The bracket on the right keeps the shield from moving around and the vertical bracket locks it all inplace. I first made a template from card board then transfered it to the plexi glass. In the last pic you can see the huge hole that all the warm air would enter from, and is now blocked by the plexi shield.
  9. There are some clips on the side and the top I believe, once its glued you can remove and reinstall it as a unit. Note: instead of using a hot glue gun, silicone works better. it came loose had to fix it last week.
  10. I really was not happy with the factory color so I degreased it, primed it, sanded, primed, sanded, primed, and painted it with the factory Victory Red. Looks pretty good now, the door panels are next.
  11. This one came with everything frame and all. Paid 225 plus shipping. I think I am going to die it black might look a little better. Im not really going for the factory exact, mostly going with fuctionality with out having to change alot. Just bolted right in.
  12. Not sure if there are any SS out there with a center jump seat, just throwing this out there. I really love the console instead of the jump seat. I got the console off ebay I believe it came from a yukon or something, it not a one piece. Kinda pissed it doesnt exactly match but it looks alot better in person. It went in really easy had to remove the seats and mounted the console frame under the seats then reinstalled the seats. Oh, and as for the carpet and the duct tape and the shitty tile and the rusty metal in the first two pics im in the marines and live in some shitty berracks for now. Thanks for voting for Obama now im really getting the shaft.
  13. I had some switches on my dash that I had to remove because I am adding a center console to my silverado ls. So I came up with this. I have seen this on other trucks so I decided to try it myself. So here we go: I started with a piece of black plastic hot glued to the factory piece. Then cut off the portions that I dont need of the factory piece. Test fit in the vehicle to see where to drill for the switches. Drilled the plastic, installed the switches, and wired it up. From the switch I connected a female cig thing so I could connect my gps. Now I still have 2 switches left next to wire up my radar detector and maybe an inverter or something. Maybe I should add a fog light kit.
  14. Are the front and rear seats available? I am still interested in the console.
