  1. Howdy gents!! I know I know I am actually still alive! Lots of stuff going on right now, so as much as I would love to come down and meet up with everyone I will unfortunately not be able to make it. My dealership got sold a few months back. We started up a Porsche dealership and as much as I loved the cars (and driving some insane ones!) I was offered a position with a company that I could not turn down. My last day with Porsche is the 30th so I have to turn in my demo and I won't have a vehicle let alone a nice one to come down with. The good news is I am looking for new cars and another Silverado is def on my list. Anybody know if my old truck is making the trek? Anyway I wish I could make it. I hope you guys have a great time! Here's to some fast and safe runs!! Rob
  2. Hey guys. I just figured I would stop in and let you guys all know that I sold the SS. I know I know I have heard it from a lot of people but I had to do it. I didn't drive it much anymore and I would much rather pay off some bills and do some things I need to do. The new owner seems to love the truck. He was very interested in all the things that have been done to it as well as the forum. I showed him some pictures of a few of the meets and what not and he seemed pretty impressed. He said he has been lurking on here so hopefully he will sign up and join the family. I already miss the truck, but the next project will be along soon enough. Thanks for all the info and support over the past few years. I have learned a ton from everyone on here, and had a blast in the mean time. I will still be around so don't be afraid to get a hold of me. I will hopefully make it out to the LVD meets, who knows maybe I will have a new toy by then. Anyway thanks again everyone and keep in touch. Rob
  3. DAMN IT!! I am such a tool Haha well That's what I get for not coming online more often lol. On a side note, does anyone else think that that is a ridiculous design idea from the genius people at GM?
  4. Ok anyone who wants to know how to fix this, it is a super simple fix. After a few hours of reviewing wiring diagrams and running in circles I found the solution. (Note: This is only true if the buttons don't light but still function properly.) I will try to post pictures later, but in short all four buttons share a single power source for the lights. After reviewing the GM wiring diagrams I found that the lighting circuit has a simple 2 amp fuse. That is the fix, finding it was not. The wire is a brown wire with a white tracer. If you look at the base of the steering column on the left hand side, you will see a large connector. If you check the brown wire with a white tracer you will more than likely see 12 volts at this connection, however you will see nothing at the connection under the air bag. I have heard a lot of people say it is the SIR Coil. DO NOT REPLACE THIS!! Unless of course you like to spend money. Trace that brown wire with the white tracer down the column. (This requires you to remove some things like the lower dash pad etc. You will have to pull that wire out of the rest of the zip ties and electrical tape. Towards the bottom of the column you will see a small black shrink wrapped bulge in the wire. (Buss fuse in shrink wrap). That is your blown fuse. Here comes the fix. Chop that out and go pick yourself up an inline fuse holder at your local auto store. Simply solder that bad boy in and pop in a 2amp fuse. Good as new. The best part is that if it happens again you now have just a standard fuse!! Good luck. I hope this helps some people out there. Rob
  5. Looking good guys!! And as always Jeff is the only one representing red!
  6. Hey guys. Thanks for thinking of me, I dont have much free time to log on anymore. I would love to come but the SS is still tucked away for the winter (And in pieces around the house), and I have to work Saturday. I hope you guys have a good time and I hope to make the next meet. At this point the future of the SS is up in the air. I uncovered it the other day to do some stuff and found a bunch of little bubbles in the paint around the right bed side. I was heart broken to say the least. But we will see what the next couple months brings. If everything goes as planned there may be a major promotion in the near future leaving me a lot more "project money". Have fun guys, and hopefully I will catch you on the next one. Rob
  7. OK guys bumping this thread back up and have some questions for anyone who can answer. And yes I have read this whole thread probably about 4 or 5 times. Does anyone have any pictures of the driver and passenger door heated seat switch's done?? I have looked and could not find them. Also how do you determine if the lighting needs a resistor? I know that resistors are used in almost all of these lights, but why and how do you determine how much resistance is required? For example why is it that the door window and lock switches do not need to have resistors? From all the pictures it seems like the steering wheel controls are by far the brightest lights. Why? Is it possible to change the resistance and make them a little more even with the rest of them? As always I appreciate any expertise in this subject. Thanks guys. Rob
  8. Any one have a full mirror or even just the glass that they are looking to get rid of? Let me know you price. The best way to get ahold of me is my email. [email protected] Thanks!
  9. I am looking to buy a copy of Greg Bannish's tuning dvd. Anyone have one? Shoot me an email if you do with a price. I don't get on here to much anymore. Thanks. Rob [email protected]
  10. Getting ready for LVD on Saturday!!!

  11. Count me in! I will be there Sat and can bring whatever you guys want.
  12. Pics look awesome Justin! Haven't talked to you in a while on here. Congrat's on the son!
  13. Welcome! Sorry to see that. It is def a nasty hit. I have a feeling that it will be totalled. I hope it all work out. Let us know how you made out! Good Luck!
  14. They say you can tow up to 7,000lbs with our trucks. With that being said, I would not tow that much. The only thing I don't like about towing with mine, is it squats like hell with anything somewhat heavy. Keep an eye on your trans temp. What work has been done to the truck? And do you have trailer brakes on the trailer (also a controller in the truck)?
