  1. I checked the harnesess well, They appeared identical. I sawpped them anyways. Along with the tcc solinnoid, and the trans pressure control solinoid. No change. It goes into p r n and 1st. I then drained it again, pulled the 1/2 and 2/3 shift solinoids, worked the 1/2 rod/plunger by hand then swapped the solinoids, (not the wiring). No change. I have hp tuners, and when running on the jack, it commands and shifts, all the way up. Via watching the speedo while on the jack. On the road, it does NOT shift. If I wind out 1st, and let off it will go into another gear, either 2 nd or 3 rd, (its 3000 rpm is 50) but if I accelerate alittle to hard it falls out and back to first. First freewheels, all the time and manually selecting a gear does nothing but it will not shift up into the above described gear if manually selected, even 3rd. I also swapped pcms, with another that I reflashed to stock then to the modded tune that was in the truck for the last year or so, still no change. I probed pin e its got power. It does have a range switch error which will cause a limp mode, but I changed the nuetral position switch with a new one with the alignment bar on it still, and it still sets the same code. range switch error. The shifter lights the indicator except p and n....I tried probing pin D on the range switch plug harness, and could not get a + volt reading. I can not find out were power should come from or if its 5 v or 12 v. In the wiring diagram I couldnt really read, (online) it appeared the ac pressure switch is in the same line, and I know the trucks ac is nt working but I dont know why. I cant find any blown fuses either. Im tired of this, I d never buy anything with a 4l60e pile of crap. I already have a 4l80e rossler trans for my van and now I cant wait to get it in there.
  2. I was really hoping you were correct. But I pulled the pan on both, the wiring harnesses in the trans's is the same. From 04 to 99, exactly the same other then one plug. I swapped it anyways, and the solinoid with the different plug. I lso swapped the shift solinoid block......It works on a jack stand.....itll run at 70 mph at 2000 rpm, take it for a drive and nothing, 1 st gear only! please help.
  3. I swapped a known good 4l60e from a 2004 chevy express(awd) into a 99 silverado(4wd). The silverado lost 3 and 4 at the same time, then the next day 2 and most of 1 except when it was cold. The fluid was beyond burned. So we had a known good 4l60e from a 2004 chevy express awd van. Same output , everything. ..........it worked perfectly in the van....we had pulled it for a 4l80e swap. Anyways, get doner in and works fine in p r n and od, but only goes into 1st. and refuses to shift? Even with hp tuners commanding it. I assume its a wiring but the gm manual disc was accidentilly broken that has the wiring diagrams for em......so help please! Ofcourse I reused the original 4 wd transfer case.
  4. I had a friend with his 2003 2500 stop by. Its lifted with 40's and 5.13's. Anyways the pcm is progammed for a 4l80e, but it has a 5 speed allison? Changing tranny tables does nothing, so I ve concluded that when they option the allison, they run a seperate tranny pcm? The truck has a abs /brake system failure, but the speed is correct, and the speed sensor is on the output of the transfer case. It only has abs on the front. So I dont think it should have an error at all? Its not comparing frnt and rear wheel speed. Is it the allison gear ratios? Or just the and incorrect gear ratio/tire size for out put shaft speed calculation? It originally had 29.8 tires and 373's now it has 39's (as measured) and 5.13's, whicj is very very close to the the oem set up. Any ideas on how to over come the abs error?
  5. I know of a eyron sold back to a dealer because the owner could not fimd a buyer. He lost a lot. With the down economy, super cars seem to be taking a big hit. He bought it for 1.2 I think. The dealer relunctantly offered 700 or 750 for it when he practically begged them to make an offer....He took it. As for the scc aero......well its an over rated lsx based engine car that really appears to look like a "kit" car up close. A nice car yes....at 75-100 k.....but not at the stickers 625k. Any good turbo vette, or turbo f body will run away from it in real life to 200. And the g50 trans axle.....well, was never really meant for big power. I love to see any super car on 20's run to 60 in under 4 secs or 100 in 6. At least some of teh perf numbers are calculated on weight and engine dyno numbers with ideal traction.
  6. Thanks, Zippy,your exactly right. Conditions just suck. I met the zr1 drivers brother last night. Its od, I was just telling someone how all young men rub me the wrong way. They all dress like gangster thugs etc etc....but the zr1 driver Patrick and his brother Chris give our society hope. Well spoken polite men, that definately seem to work for and deserve the things they get, more then most. Last night, low 13's all night for the van. Everyone was running really slow again.....da in the 5500+ area.

  8. Rossler reccomended the earlier trans because of the od roller bearing. He said that he has seen failures in over the road, long distance hi speed use with the late trans. So, I put the early trans in the 2004 awd van. The trans cooler lines were easily bent by hand to swap places. The exposed bottom section of the convertor also help get heat out, if you dont need to run the splash sheild due to snow, and debris. Im actually looking for another for another turbo van build to send in.
  9. One thread got closd on ls1 tech.....that just erks me. The funny part is everyone that thinks the vette is faster.......even so, it wasnt on that pass, and whats to say that the next time the van wont be faster? I have a boost controller on teh spring still, all the zr1 had is hopes. Next time he may need at least a 12.0 ......coupled with a slightly better light.
  10. Two gtrs were in the 12.4's I think. I talked to one guy, and I think his was bone stock still. He was running the zr1 when I left. I have around 16-17 cars, always in various stages....From a drag radial Camaro or two or three, to stock metropolitan nash.....just a jumble of parts with few cars mixed in.
  11. I know what drag radials can do on a rwd....probably why, I have them on lets.....see...5 or 6 of my own cars. Ill be back on the 11th though, even with a rwd car with drag radials......and the van too probably. Be glad to run. Yea, 13's is bad.....but considering everyone else?........not bad. The zr1 was around the 7th or 8th quickest car at the track. And except for the gtr's probably the fastest stock car.
  12. this is just funny, excuses for a zr1 against a van? Really.....The zr1 needs slicks to run a van ? On 20 inch radials....lolololol but but but the van is awd.........and the driver was sleeping....... He new he was racing, and actually only gave up about 6ft.....we both ran 20 inch tires but his were alot wider. If you knew much about zr1's you d know that just putting on slicks isnt that easy. The brakes are to big, and theres not much of tire selection......so thats close to out except for the hardcore drag racer which all zr1 owners are ofcourse. plus the van is awd....not my fault.....how but since you can make this argument, lets ad 3600 lbs to vette to even things up ok......and duct tape a 4x8 sheet of ply wood to the front. Any ss guys on here get.....but your ss truck is awd.....waaaa, waaaa? Its awd on purpose, its turboed the way it is on purpose....shifted at 6000, (can we make the zr1 shift at 6000 too please) Only one z06 was faster thenthe zr1 at 12.75 teh rest slower. A awd turbo porche ran a 13.3.....all but two of the f bodies were slower, and one was a lsx 454, and all the g8s were slower, including a maggie g8 and one with heads, cam, headers, tune, intake and tire.... The cummins was faster....I ran him and he went a 12.79.. glad I have a 12 valve too.
  13. You guys will probably crusify me too.....I dont care anymore. Everyone thinks the vette should be faster....well its not. This was the second trip to the track with the van, and 12's are deffinately in sight. Its a stock 5.3 with a turbo and etc etc...The da was 5000 ft at 11 pm. Heat warning day, and close to a new record. The vette made its best pass of three at this point, and was only beaten et wise by one other z06. All the other vettes were slower then the those two. A c6 zo6 went a 12.75...the rest were 13's and 14's.

  15. yep thats it. I drive it almost everyday. The irony is that I drive it cause of the mileage and the fun factor. Its a late model lt1 with mods and a t56 and a load of guldstrand suspension stuff and power r&p. It use to be a race car, for many years, and has seen probably every western track. Looking to put a better stereo in now, and maybe change the wheels to a drak grey center wheel but finding 17x12's is tuff.
