  1. Scoggin Dickey (SDPC2000.com) has SCE race copper gaskets for the LS1. TOGs shouldn't require special gaskets. Get some Breslin lock bolts. Pretty sure I put the part number in my garage stuff.

    9/11

I had just woke up from sleeping off a mid-watch when someone came in the bathroom where I was shaving to tell me. I was stunned seeing it on TV. We were 2 days out of the Arabian Gulf after spending 6 consecutive weeks supporting Operations Southern and Northern Watch onboard USS Enterprise. We were going about 25knots heading to Capetown, South Africa for our last port visit and you all of a sudden could feel the ship slow (some of the noises get quieter) and then you felt the ship do a slight roll. Seconds later the Commading Officer came on the 1MC to tell everyone that we had just been ordered to proceed to the North Arabian Sea to await tasking - but we knew what was coming the instant the ship slowed. We sat for 3 weeks waiting for the masses to form around us and then watched the loaded planes leave the deck after watching numerous tomahawks leave their tubes. I have never seen so many people (6500 onboard) go from anxious and excited about heading home (3 wks left of 6 months), to go to wanting to stand and fight. I haven't done tours in either Iraq or Afghanistan, but think of those guys nearly everyday. I have stood my time in with honor and pride in my country, but have never put my feet on the ground of hostile territory. Hats off to those who have and made it back. To those who made the ultimate sacrifice...., God Bless them and their families and loved ones. Good or bad for what they died for...Heroes to us all.
  3. Go to energy suspension and see what they offer.
  4. I would expect more like a 13.5 with your mods. The 12.95sec after those mods.
  5. Short story to a long one - my lower piece has a crack in it. Still in the middle of moving or unpacking boxes. As soon as I can get some time I will look into what caused it. I have been traveling so much lately, 4 out of the last 5 weeks (in HI last week), just haven't had the time to mess with it. I'll be in FL next week and CA the week after. One day I'll get the time I guess and get back into it. The other problem is my wife is here now - although we are not staying together for very much longer. Long story there also.
  6. Maybe you'll get caught before you achieve it.
  7. Oh yeah, forgot about that. So how are you liking your pacesetters compared to the ASM's you had before? Why did you switch? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I sold my ASMs along with my Radix when I started to build a 408 and going with a turbo setup. When the turbo idea went away, I later added LTs. I got the Pacesetters to try and have been exceptionally happy with them so far.
  8. The Nexus gauges have their own control module station that does the logging for each gauge. You cannot use the Nexus gauges without the Nexus module. Is that what you were refering to as a logging device? I guess I'm still lost on the wideband thing. What's the difference between a regular air/fuel gauge and a wideband air/fuel gauge? I'm just not understanding what "exactly" a wideband does. Jim <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If it has a volatge out, then it can be used. Go to the innovate motorsports website to read about widebands.
  9. Many drain before they remove - cuts down on weight. I drained mine to switch to a better fluid.
  10. If it is already out of warranty, take it somewhere other than the dealer.
  11. I would go with either a Yank 2600 or PI 2800. You could as a less expensive alternative go with a TB stall.
  12. Belangers are the most expensive. The $1300+ price-tag is just for headers, not cats also like dyna.
  13. Digital - to get true boost reading vs different reading based on your viewing angle - also in decimal points.
  14. Thunder Racing sells new gasket sets, if you need to replace them.
  15. My guess is you're the only knucklehead trying to hit 4500rpm in 4th, so you may be own your own for a fix
  16. Doesn't matter which LT you get, the truck will be louder. I have a very rumbly mean exhaust note that even at idle is fairly loud. Inside however, it isn't much different than stock - windows up. I have LTs and custom 3" exhaust to my muffler.
  17. If you believe there is not much difference between coated/non-coated, you're wrong. There may not be much of a difference between the stock manifolds and non-coated, but if that is what you are referring to then you don't realize how much heat they really are making. I can drive my truck, park it, and if I wanted to could grab one of my primaries in about 20 minutes. You would have to wait a couple of hours - easy. I had non-coated stainless headers on my last truck and they get incredibly hot compared to a coated set. You must not have a basis for comparison. The dynatech set is complete, sure. I put Pacesetters on and had custom welded, 3" mandrel pipe put in with x-pipe, for less than that complete set. The dyna set has smaller than 3" pipes. I equate it to getting a catback on the SS. I don't fault people for getting it, but all that is needed is a muffler change. The stock pipes are pretty good. Some of the catbacks like Corsa even go to a smaller than stock pipe.
  18. That AFR gauge will work well. The only thing was I didn't see any type of voltage out that could be used to tie in to a logger. Not a big deal if you don't need it.
