Just a standard black none painted cap http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd510/Pwilly7/8D0252DA-290A-4222-839C-AAD6CBF9329E_zpslfxvfusr.jpg Little bend in it here. http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd510/Pwilly7/B4BEF1CE-5A59-4803-ADD4-9DD4ED500CF9_zpsy1xsewdn.jpg -
Nvg149 transfercase rear bumper cover tail gate cap

The plan is to travel the west coast by dropping into Washington, then through Oregon and northern Cali. Then cutting across through Yosemite to Nevada down to Vegas. Spending some time there. Then back up on the I15 through Utah, Idaho, Montana to Alberta. -
SOLD! I have a freshly rebuilt nvg149 transfercase for sale. I have pictures of all the new bearing and seals installed as well as the pump rub protector plate. If you're serious about purchasing the transfercase I can supply pictures, there's lots. Rebuild consisted of -Fresh bearings, ALL were replaced with KOYO brand bearings, even the pain in the ass bearing inside the rear output shaft was replaced. -new seals all around -removed the crappy stock protector clip and installed a full oil pump protector plate -new oil filter and O ring -new tail shaft housing bushing -comes with new transmission to transfer case gasket as well. Pretty much a total rebuild. Ready to go. Asking $900USD + shipping, no core charge. The cheapest I found one for was $1000$ + shipping + core charge. So I believe I'm in the ball park. SOLD! Rear bumper cover, is heavily used. Needs a repaint and repairs as it has some cracking and a small hole on passenger side. Has no spare tire door either. Step pad is in good shape. Tailgate cap, just a stock, unpainted black tail gate cap with some wear. I stripped all the old double sided tape off of it. $50 USD plus shipping. Keep in mind that I am in Canada so shipping will be expensive to the U.S. On that note, I am driving down to the U.S in a week or so and will be there for roughly 2 weeks and can bring the items you're interested across with me and can ship them once I get into the U.S. This should greatly reduce shipping costs. Thanks for reading.

That can you have is pretty good. A bit more lift would be nice. As stated above a stall would be good, but you tow. Why would you want to go bigger with the cam if you tow and don't want a stall? The cam you have now is already begging for a stall. Going bigger with the cam is two steps back.

I went 15.0 with tune LT headers and CAI. DA was 3500 or so that night I believe. My track is at 2200ft and usually very humid so it usually has a DA of 3000+ Knowing where your track is will greatly help us guess a time.

I was looking for a composite box from the early 2000s trucks, but good luck finding one. Fiberglass or composite would be a great weight savings.
-
Doubt it. Not without cutting some serious weight. being 2wd would definitely help.
-
I can vouch for this cam. Good cam. I'm running the same cam NA and it pulls good. Match it with a proper converter though.
-
I weigh in at 5050 05 AWD with heavy ass audio equipment. I'm under 5000lb with the sub box removed.

Custom made wire. No heat sleeve needed. http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd510/Pwilly7/7BA23264-5380-4A9C-B173-98A51D20AD0F_zpsk0nhtpi0.jpg

Front diff questions?

Generally carrier bearings. -
No problem. I hate to say it but it sounds like this dude doesn't quite know what's he's doing. My advice would be to get ahold of zippy. He's a awesome tuner and really good at making the 65Es last. Give him a shout and he'll get you straightened out. His number is in his profile I believe.

Something is definitely not right there. Is it shifting and 5500 1-2 2-3 at wide open throttle? If so that's waaay too low for that cam. Should be well into the 6000rpm area. Maybe even grazing 7000. Also your converter when you're in 4th doesn't sound like its locking up. Or it's just not shifting into 4th. Either your Trans/converter is messed up or your tune is waaaay off. Who did your tune?
-
at what RPM are you shifting from 3rd to 4th? is the stall locking up once it hits 4th?
-
those are factory rims. mine also say speedline.

Salvage Yard LQ9 or Stock or Stroker

with a budget of 2500-10k i'd go with the 408, even just a mild 11:1 pump gas set up will be a amazing. you're absolutely right about the low end. you can program your shifts to stay down low too and take advantage of that TQ. do some mild upgrades (servos, shift kit, tru cool trans cooler) to the trans to help it deal with the extra TQ and you'll be laughing while that thing chugs along. Tcase and diffs will be fine.
