  1. Talking with a guy but it may fall through.....still need wheels Talking with a guy but it may fall through.....still need wheels
  2. I am a real buyer located in Iowa needs one but will buy all four wheels need to be in very good shape... prefer no tires.... and center caps would be nice too...mine have weird white marks on the stickers....like i said grey painted are prefered
  3. I just got my truck back with new tranny built by Dana @ pro-built trans, and a new vigilante torq converter with 2800 stall....run awesome, better than ever, need NO tuning, my guess is the Torq Converter was the problem all along as it is alot tighter now. I guess never having a stall before,,,I thought all the slip was normal. Glad to have it back
  4. Funny that you say that Krambo, because after talking to the tranny guy (Dana, Pro-Built) and I explained the premature shifting and how it was like a big shutter, he said it sounds like more than just premature shifting that maybe the coverter was locking up and unlocking at the wrong time as well.
  5. Dropped Tranny Pan 1/4 cup of shinny trash...gonna try to order new tranny from http://www.700r4l60e.com/ what do you think?
  6. just got home from Maryland last night (15 hour drive, in work van) and then went to local diner and was having breakfast with my girlfriend telling her after almost two years and 50,000 miles I might get to the bottom of the problem in my truck....yep, ha....tranny is completely gone....shifted weird going to diner, so I gave WOT to see if it would do the rapid shifting and it acted like it got stuck and wouldn't shift so I let off and thought "Hey that's new". I didn't push it the rest of the way to diner and then when we left the diner RMP dropped and raised about 5 times 2000-1500, 2000-1500 and so on and then almost no pressure in the tranny and no shifting, no check engine light, nothing, so I shut it off started it would go about a mile at a time and limped her home. I guess the case is closed, time for a new tranny, but this time should put something that can take the motor any suggestions? and will I need reprogramming? what a week. LOL
  7. This is what programmer had to say... I found the program your running, all of the TCC tables are stock. I have never had to make the changes to them, like that guy described, and I have done a train load of those 03SS trucks with blowers and converters. The converter should not effect one the way you describe. If the gears, tire size or throttle body has been changed you could have it up shifting too soon. I'm assuming that is what you are describing? If a larger throttle body is installed, it will cause shift point (and often low line pressure-soft shifts) problems. The PCM "looks" at 5 TPS vs MPH to make gear changes. If the speedo is wrong, so is the PCM's point of reference for shifts and line pressure. Ditto the throttle body size change. It takes less throttle angle to run the same RPM & MPH with a larger throttle body.
  8. There as been some talk that this shouldn't be happening because of my lower stall, This may be a stupid question but is it possable the amount of power when it grabs the next gear is creating a certain amount of slip under load(going up small hill at low speed) and that slip is really whats is creating the computer to throw code. I mean to say stall 2600 would not be a factor and slip generated by tourqe would be...again I'm not experienced in this but my newbie logic has to ask, can the amount of stall be eliminated from the root of the problem? and narrowed to amount of slip
  9. This could be as I know shift kit was ordered through you, if memory serves me you had a built-up trans for sale at the time and mentioned to the shop that spear headed this build. Because in the end I was thinking I could have built trans for what I spent on my stock one, because of these programing problems.

  11. are you saying larger as in wider on just the crank and blower pulley? I put a new factory tensioner and forced on a shorter belt to reduce slipage and haven't had much slipage since but my power is reduced some now.... trying to figure out power issuses and anticipating possable belt problem and just wanted to make sure I understood that right.
  12. So I am seeing I need a lot of tune work, I sent an E-Mail with Krambo's protcal for a SOLUTION to the problem so I will see if Ed feels he can use that in conjuction with with the rest of the tune...as for not needing TM with shift kit, I don't know if I buy that because that is where I am at now and it isn't right, I have had the tranny gone over 3 times by 2 different shops with very high standards and outstanding reps... so, I have felt it is in the tune from the start as well and was hoping for more definitive answers from people the have had same issue. The other possability(in Fastchip's opinion) was TConverter but dosen't seem to be to valid.
  13. anyone that has done it like to comment? what about fastchips anyone know this Ed guy?
  14. Looks like you all had the same issue...so has zippy been able to program around it by using...these guide lines??? I was able to get rid of this issue (at least it hasn't happened since,...3+ years) by doing three things in my tune: 1. Narrowed my TCC lock up / release MPH points in my tune. I had them farther apart (about a 10MPH+ spread) than most people, which I liked due to not having the converter lock and unlock when cruising around in my "hilly" area however this was suggested to me by a local LS1 tuner. I now have about a 5 - 8MPH spread under 50% TPS. 2. I also Zero'd my shift times since I had a shift kit. 3. I set my TCC duty cycle MAX table to 100 and the TCC duty cycle MIN to 90. Maybe Zippy can comment on what I did and if that was appropriate for this situation. Since I haven't had this issue since, I figured it worked. However could be wrong...
