  1. Glad you got your truck back. I just went through the same thing, and got mine back 2 days ago. I have mixed feelings on the repair of the truck. In one sense its good to have it back, but its just not the same. Its a VIOLATION. My repairs payed through insurance were $16,000- $17,000 thats for... rims and tires aftermarket hood grill facia, with all the billet add ons bumper covers, front and rear seats, all 3 and there were 3 wiring harnesses cut Good luck man, I feel your pain
  2. Hey Guys, new here still trying to figure out how everything works around here.... Got my truck back (it was stolen and been in the repair shop fort almost 3 months) Anyways I'm looking for advice on alarms, or gps systems. What do you guys use? and recommend. Any help greatly appreciated I will try to posts pics of before stolen, after recovered stripped and now...
  3. Sorry Joe, completely understandable....Won't happen again
  4. Yeah they are stealing alot of SS's in Town. And don't plan on Onstar to track it. Those wires are (MOD EDIT!). I plan on getting several theft deterants...... The allen bolts in your picture are the pho ones. This wheels on the truck know, there is a single 1/4" x 1-1/2" that is used to attach the center cap. As apposed to just snapping on
  5. I just ran across this site today, looks a cool place to hangout. I bought a 2005 SS Silver, new in Febuary 05. Absolutely love the truck, can't see my self driving any other truck. I plan on getting a corvette sometime in the near future. My truck was stolen on June 26th, and recovered stripped on July 2nd. What a violaton, can't even explain the feeling coming out and finding your vehicle missing. I am in the process of putting the truck back together... I will keep you guys posted, look forward to being a member of your group
  6. Thanks Guys, I think the guy that runs the auto repair shop is trying to pull a fast one. The replacement wheels he put on the truck have a single allen bolt on one side of the center cap. I have searched the web, and I can't find any like the ones he put on the truck. I think they are some cheap, inferior look-alikes.
  7. First off Hello, Happy to have found this site. Looks like a nice group. I was searching the web, trying to find info on SS wheels. I have an 05 Silverado SS. It was stolen a few months ago, and recovered 4 days later. Stripped of the wheels, cowl hood, bumpers and seats, the thieves also cut several wiring harnesses. My truck has been in the shop for 2 months parts are hard to come by Anyways my question is Have any of you ever seen wheels with an allen bolt used to attach the center cap ??? The originals were not like that, and I found it as odd. Are there lookalike cheapo SS wheels on the aftermarket? Any input greatly appreciated
