i'm sure you guys have found the perfect answer to the never ending paint swirls on these bastards.. with my other vehicles (they weren't black) i used 3M rubbing compound and mcguires (sp?) wax but i can NOT get the swirls out. Hell you can even see swirls from where i buffed off the coat of wax. Also, i was a big fan of hitting the paint with some mcguires after washing it to keep the water spots off, but i can't even wipe off the mist without smearing streaks EVERYWHERE that won't come out please help, btw i'm sure this is a repost, just didn't have much time to search

umm..... i was not complaining about poor gas mileage. I was simply asking a question based on averages so i would know what to expect... I already have a 400+ hp LS1 daily driver so i'm not exactly used to getting the best mileage anyway. The SS truck will be more of a sunday driver so i'm not really concerned. Just a question out of curiosity. Thanks guys for all your input and answering my question

so the how-to procedure is doable? that seems like a whole lot of tedious work all for something that runs the risk of taking on moisture if everything isn't completely sealed...

I've seen a variety of EPG ratings for the 6.0 (03 SS) that range from 11 in the city and 16 on the hwy , to 14 in the city and 19 on the hwy... what do you guys typically get (stock) ?

Do all SS silverados, particularly 03's that have leather seats have the "SS" embroided on the headrests??

o i know all about that I have an 01 Camaro SS all bolt ons 150 wet NX etc etc. i got the truck just to have a truck but i can tell already that i'm gonna end up putting money in it like i did the car

thanks guys! the only pics i have are from my iphone and they're not high quality. I'll post some better ones asap. Its completely stock except for a billet grille. I ordered a billet bowtie for the front but i'm debating putting the typical black ss decal in the center. I'm just doing the typical stuff as of now. Vent visors, maybe bug shield. I got some headers ready to go on as soon as i decide what exhaust to go with. Any suggestions? i'll prob just keep the stock piping from the headers back and go with a magnaflow muffler. Any suggestions???

Is there any way to take the god awful orange corners out of our stock headlights? I'm not really in the market for spendin money on a whole new clear/halo assembly right now. If not, what are the cheapest stock clear lights out there?

Just bought a one owner clean car fax 03 Black SS Loaded 70k miles for 12 grand. Guy was goin through a divorce and had to get out from under it. Deal of the freakin century!!!!!

I'm a fan of the black bowtie grille emblem that replaces the gold but the only ones i can find are chrome or stainless steel. Where are you guys finding the black, or are you just using a vinyl overlay? also, I assume everyone is just using stock sized SS emblems to go on top of the bowtie, correct? thanks
