  1. Nice bro... what wheels are those? I like the five spoke design.
  2. Congrats bro. Killer name by the way. He's gonna love cruisin' with dad in the SS. My two year old daughter prefers daddy's truck over mommy's car. I'm hoping the baby we have on the way now is a boy so we can take some father-son drives.
  3. Sorry you had to go through so much work for such a little problem. Thanks for sharing though so that everybody else here will know where to look. Glad you figured it out.
  4. Hmm... so maybe the RCAs went to an amp and then the amp was connected to subs? I believe I saw the adapter connected to a light blue wire with a white stripe and a green wire with a black stripe. I'll have to look later to see all of the wires that were tapped into.
  5. When I first purchased my truck used, I noticed that there were two RCA cables, a remote wire, a ground wire and a positive wire ran under my rear seat. On the underside of the rear seat I can see the indention of an amplifier. I decided to see where those wires originated today and when I took apart my center console I found a speaker to RCA adapter spliced into the factory wiring. What exactly does this allow me to do? Does it allow me to amplify the door speakers, the factory sub or add a sub? The reason I ask is because I was prepared to purchase the PAC oem-1. Would I still have any use for it? Sorry for my ignorance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  6. I'd probably prefer it just saying Silverado SS parking only, but I'd be down for a black and grey one since that is the color scheme of my SS.
  7. Your truck is absolute sickness bro. I love those wheels. Whenever I look at the bonspeeds online, they look like they have a protruding center cap. Did you get a different center cap or am I looking at the wrong wheels? Again, your truck looks perfect!
  8. Hey man. I had the same idea a while back when I removed my emblems to paint them. I mocked them up also and didn't like it because they are too large. I fabricated a piece out of metal for the grille and painted it black. I used the SS from the SilveradoSS.com decal and adhered it to the metal piece. I mounted the grille emblem in the lower right corner. I'm using this as a temporary emblem as I have a spare dash emblem that I am shaping and painting so I can mount it on the grille. My neighbor works at a machine shop and I have been trying to convince him to help me make a grille emblem that I can offer to everybody. We'll see.
  9. All of those products are nice, but you can have exterior LEDs for way cheaper. I just swapped all of my bulbs for LED bulbs from v-leds.com. I was going to go with the Recon tail lights also, but I have seen far too many vehicles with them and there are multiple LEDs that do not come on. Our stock tail lights look awesome so I'd say just change all the bulbs to LEDs and remember to get the resistor kit or the special flasher module so your blinkers will flash at the proper speed. You can bake your tail lights to loosen the gasket so you can separate the two halves, clean them up and then re-do the gasket so there will be no more leaks. You may also be able to find a set of used stock tail lights for sale somewhere. You can do the same thing with the bumper lights to fix the leak and then just upgrade all of the bulbs to LEDs. If you were to get the LED bumper light housings it would definitely give your truck a unique look though. The Anzo third brake light actually looks like a nice product, but again, I chose just to change all of the bulbs to LEDs. The difference between the two options is with the Anzo light, you will see each individual LED light up and with the stock light with LED bulbs, you will just see a large lit rectangle since the inside of the light is hazed a bit. Either way you go, it's your truck and you can do whatever you like to it. Good luck
  10. I'm really wanting to go with a five spoke wheel design this time around and I like this wheel even more since it is already all black. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen these wheels in person and if they can let me know if they look good or not. So far I'm considering going with gloss black 22 inch replica SSS wheels, these Lorenzos or the American Racing gloss black Circuit wheel.
  11. Here is a pic of my truck when I had 22 inch U2-55 wheels. They look very nice, but I would honestly recommend staying away from them. The quality of the chrome is not that great and it took 6 inch strips of weights to balance the wheels. The truck rode like crap the whole time I had them. I know they are very affordable but you get what you pay for. Maybe you'll have better luck with them if you get them. I think they now carry a flat black 24 inch version.
  12. I'm an Army trained Biomedical Equipment Technician meaning I fix medical equipment in a hospital. It is a great job with great pay so if anyone is considering joining the military or wants to change their MOS, I highly recommend becoming a BMET. The course is a triservice school so you can be in the Navy, Airforce or Army to participate. I've been at it for 6 years now and still enjoying it.
  13. You got that thing sittin' pretty Tony. Great job. Me next!!!
  14. Well I know times are tough and from my experience with selling used parts (even barely used), people don't want to pay more than half the price of new. I'm trying to save up the money to have my rear lowering kit installed too so I could use the money. I've saved money purchasing from other members on here so why not pass on the savings yenno?
  15. Would anybody be interested in an authentic Mitchell and Ness throwback Barry Sanders home jersey size 54? I originally paid about $400 for it and only wore it twice. It is in mint shape just hanging in my closet. If interested, please PM an offer and a cell phone number that I can text pics to. Thanks.
  16. Ok I see. I sent the money via paypal to the paypal address you gave me. I called and sent texts for about a month and then I ended up having Paypal give me the money back. I wonder if the paypal address was wrong. Oh well, thanks for getting back to me.
  17. Did you not get any of my PMs, texts or calls? I sent the money for the lights via paypal the first time you posted them for sale and then you disappeared. I have since received a refund but I'm just wondering what happened. Thanks.
  18. Does your truck have OEM SS badges with a "2" decal or is the whole "SS2" a decal? I have seen silverados in my area that have the "SS2" decals in the position where SS badges would be but they look like LT trims. They don't have any cladding or the SS bumpers. I asked one guy driving a truck with the "SS2" decals what the decal meant and he said it was the logo of the shop that did some work on his truck. We really need to see some pics to determine what kind of truck you have though.
  19. BUMP.... Brakes still available, PM me best offer.
  20. Ok thanks for the info. I did find some bowtie emblems, but I'm waiting to hear back from the seller as far as the exact measurements. Because of the slanted edges I need to make sure the emblems will completely cover the GMC stamp.
  21. So I recently got some 06 denali 17s. Of course the center caps have GMC stamped into them and it looks like it will cost me almost $80 to pick up a set of blank chromed ones off of Ebay. I am not about to spend that kind of money especially when these are just temp wheels. What I was thinking about doing is taking the chromed skin off of the caps and hopefully the plastic cap underneath is blank. I could just pick up a can of that chrome looking spray paint and hit them with that real quick. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the chrome looking spray paint. Does it come out looking decent? Will it hold up? The first option I thought of was covering the GMC stamp with the GM performance division badge, but the dimensions of it are not quite right. Any help would be appreciated or I am also open to other suggestions too. Thanks.
  22. Hello all, I am looking to sell my SSBC big brake kit that I just took off the front of my 2006 SSS. This kit includes two 14 inch drilled and slotted rotors, two larger than stock caliper mounting brackets and 12 shims. The kit was on my truck for 6 months but the truck was only driven on weekends so it may have around 1000 miles on it. The only reason I am selling this kit is because I recently traded my 22s for some stock 17s and had to go back down to stock size rotors. There is absolutely nothing wrong with any part of this kit. This kit goes for $495 on the SSBC website and it is part number A126-47. I would like to get $225 shipped or $200 local pick up. You have to have at least 18 inch wheels for this kit to work. According to the SSBC website, this kit will fit on the following vehicles: 2007-2008 Cadillac Escalade (2WD) 2007-2008 Cadillac Escalade (4WD) 2007-2008 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 (2WD) 2007-2008 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 (4WD) 2005-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2 & 4WD 2007-2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2 & 4WD 2005-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 SS 2007-2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 SS 2007-2008 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 (2WD) 2007-2008 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 (4WD) 2007-2008 Chevrolet Tahoe 1500 (2WD) 2007-2008 Chevrolet Tahoe 1500 (4WD) 2005-2006 GMC Sierra 1500 2 & 4 WD 2007-2008 GMC Sierra 1500 2 & 4 WD 2007-2008 GMC Suburban 1500 (2WD) 2007-2008 GMC Suburban 1500 (4WD) 2007-2008 GMC Yukon 1500 (2WD) 2007-2008 GMC Yukon 1500 (4WD) If interested, feel free to PM me or contact me at 510.717.2791. Thanks. Steve
