  1. I know it makes you mad, but I'm glad I or my family/friends weren't on your highway when this was going on!
  2. All I could find about towing a 5th Wheel is on page 4-68 of the '03 owners manual: Notice: If your vehicle is equiped with the SS trim package, do not pull a fifth-wheel camper or you could damage your vehicle. Doesn't say what could be damaged.
  3. Ya know, us "Ole Farts" speak a different language! I didn't want anyone to lose any sleep trying to figure out what I was saying!
  4. I saw a 1991 454 SS today that was immaculate! As I was looking at it the owner came up and I talked with him and he showed it to me. He said he was the second owner and that it had 128000 on the odo, I couldn't believe it, the truck was spotless, the engine compartment looked like it had just come off the showroom floor. A 15 year old pickup and I wish my 'O3 looked as good as his does. Anyways, the owner is Alex and I gave him a silveradoss.com card and invited him to check us out.
  5. Dump the non-American car and stay with the SSS & Suburban!
  6. Come to think of it, my passenger door cladding has a strip of the paint on the front edge gouged off. I saw it one day after my son had driven it and just assumed one of his buddies did something to it, but for the life of me couldn't figure out how they could have done it. Makes sense now. Mine isn't bad so I'll be able to touch it up with touch-up paint.
  7. Nope, all I have is the stock emblems, so will have to try something else.
  8. Looking at the S I got from Quik, it looks and feels like aluminum. So even if you bought new ones from gmpartsdirect and had them plated, you still would only have just over $100 for all of them.
  9. The quotes were just for the plating, you would have to supply the "SS"s. You can get all of the S's chromed for only $5? If that is the case, I think you could get enough of us to make up the minimum charge, I know I would definately be in if that is the case.
  10. I looked into the cost of having some chrome plated. I sent a price quote request to a couple chrome plating companies and both came back with a price of about $50 per "S", so for all 6 S's it would be around $300 if you use your own emblems, so maybe the Ebay prices aren't that bad. Sounds like the ebay seller has "connections" with a chrome plating company and can get the chrome plating price down so he can make a profit.
  11. marcusaaron79 was suppose to be having some made, but it's been several weeks past the date he was know something, so his project is possibly dead. Hopefully someone with the resources will pick up the project and make it happen.
  12. I don't have a solution for you, but I just put some new Torq Thrust ST's on my SS and after reading your post, I went out and ran it up to over 70 and I don't have any shake.
  13. I'm going the opposite direction. I've got a Black SS and I've always liked the looks of Black & Chrome. I've already got the chrome wheels, now I'm going for either chrome or stainless steel SS emblems, then a chrome/stainless grille. Nothing will be replaced that I can't change back to stock real quick.
  14. I can't believe it, a pair of SS emblems went for $200 on Ebay, only enough for 2 doors, then the winning bidder can buy another set of SS's for the tailgate for half price of the winning bid! Wow $300!
  15. There have been several members that have done this. Use the "Search" feature and see what you come up with.
  16. Well, I saw my first episode with the two new guys today. It's different, but I didn't think it was too bad, but I'll have to see how they hold up.
  17. Welcome aboard! Did you just buy your SS or did you just find us? Check out the SEARCH feature the site has, with it you can find all kinds of info about the SSS's and if you can't find it, I'm sure someone here will be able to answer your question(s).

    birthday

Oh my Gawd! You FORGOT your SS's Birthday!!?? How could you do such a thing, what a bad father!!!!! Your SS called me and told me in order for you to make amends to her, she wants a complete service job; oil change, diff fluid change, tranny flush, brake line flush, power steering flush, cooling system flush, injector cleaning, brake pads checked, tires rotated, etc. And after you've done all that to make her feel good inside, then she wants a complete professional interior and exterior detail and after that is done she wants you to get on your back and give her under carriage a complete cleaning...she likes her tummy rubbed! SHE SAYS: NOW GET WITH IT, AND DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!!!
  19. Not much. This article is from Sept 2001 Before 9/11 Gas was what? $1.40 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahhhh those good old days. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The "Good Ole Days" were when premium was about 32-35 cents a gallon, and it was around 102 octane! $15 would give me enough gas for the weekend, and a cheap date!
  20. Here is an old but interesting article on a Chevy Truck going a Million Miles on Pennzoil. Scientists probe secrets of `million-mile' truck I guess American Made cars do last!
  21. This is Nakita, our latest addition to our family, she's about 4 months old and is a German Shepard:
