  1. Milwaukee is the best power tool line you can get into. had a bunch of de walt garbage in my garage before them. 2 impact drivers had to be warrantied for basically going on fire. and the drill chuck on the drill wouldn't even hold a drill bit for a small hole. and the third impact driver smelt like it was burning whenever i used it. couldn't stand it anymore. i use the 1/4 hex driver all the time with a 3/8 adapter. it will take off just about anything under the hood besides suspension bolts. theres tons of videos on youtube about the stubby's. are you using an extension? impact sockets? there are 4 settings on the top of the tool. make sure you have it on 3. lol
  2. its been a while for a lot of us on this site lol. hope all is well
  3. sold mine a few years ago after almost 10 years of owning it. wasnt as hard as i thought lol. i do wonder what its up to. probably plowing the snow in long island with a ladder rack on it
  4. i know man we always had fun over there. hopefully we can all get together at some point
  5. Your truck is now 14 years old. Its not longer new with its 40k sticker lol. With a Vehicle of this age it is expected to have some issues. There is no car in this world that will be 14 years old and not have some issues. I had mine from 2006-2014, about 300 low 12 second passes on stock diff. great vehicle never had anything go wrong with it besides one stepper motor.
  6. I recently decided i would take my Camaro to pick up a couch. Since its a 2 door car with rear seats and a trunk and it was meant to do daily tasks I figured it would work. I was sadly mistaken and realized i needed to bring my Yukon. Wimpy car! Useless!
  7. maybe it being 13 years old has something to do with it also? idk but I wouldnt buy a sports truck to tow with. just me. thats what they make the 2500 - 3500 HD trucks for.
  8. who here remembers back in 07-08 the chat room at night around 7-9pm?? it was like a party in there like 20 people lol. the good days... now these trucks are used as plow rigs and work trucks

    Im concerned

3 speed trans (4 including OD) vs a 6 speed, newer tech, turbo, lets be real a 6.0 making 345 is old news. 5.3s make more than that now lol.
  10. ah the good ol days of being a supporting member. forgot that even existed lol its been years since i paid the subscription
  11. rust? i dont see any rust serious talk tho thats what a 3 year old truck looks like over here. i wouldnt worry at all. check the brake lines
  12. 100$ if your lucky. the hardest part is finding someone local who wants it and that they also have a big enough car to come pick it up
  13. i will be getting off weekends in about a month all good here doc! you work 25 minutes from me we should meet up for some brews one day
  14. Doctor!! FLT never failed me after 5 years awesome eddie. i miss the days when we all hung out at the tracks. good times
  15. awesome couldn't stay away from the SS trucks! i miss mine. sometimes i lurk around looking for cheapo ones in decent shape. ive had the opportunity to buy my old one back a few times now
  16. unless your foot is slipping onto the gas peddle your stepper motor is stuck. its one of those things guaranteed to go wrong with the truck at some point. there are services who rebuild gauge clusters. ive used http://www.gmgaugeguy.com/ before on my old H2 worked perfect after. its the actual stepper motor thats the issue. you would be just wasting your time pushing it back into place its going to bounce out of alignment again. if you are good with a soldering iron its an easy job to do on your own.
  17. guys who know me know i was lucky enough to have my SS when i was 17. I bought it late 2007. before that I was also lucky enough to buy my first truck back in 2006 when i was 16. got it from a chevy dealer with a warranty lol and took it to my driving test and all that. i wound up selling it a few months after i got the SS. so the guy i sold it to called me back after 10 years and informed me that he was selling it. i couldnt say no so i went to check it out. overall the body / interior is fantastic shape for a truck thats almost 20 years old. no body rot or rust at all. typical frame rust as usual. interior is still great with a really small rip in the drivers seat but thats to be expected. it needed some work mechanically. intake gaskets were leaking like crazy / valve cover gaskets leaking oil. engine light is on for 02 sensors also. after a month of going back and forth i wound up making the decision to go pick it up lol. so now the fun begins its a 1999 gmc yukon. i sold it with 85k now its got 130. its got the blue leather interior also!! lol so far im doing: intake gaskets valve cover gaskets cap / rotor plugs / plug wires water pump / thermostat changing valve cover pcv lines / gromets back in 2007 before i sold it the day i took her back home
  18. if that is legit its a pretty cool piece of history. granted its ugly nut still worth something collector wise
  19. the ram air scoop actually raised my IAT's in the summer. the scoop would pick up heat from the hot road. i ran my volant with no lid to see if it made a difference i wasn't able to see a difference in IAT temps at all.
  20. stock trans cooler - anything below 200 is acceptable. unless your towing on a very hot day you might see higher engine - stock cluster gauge should stay pegged in the same position at 195 (a line before 210). if you have tuning software you will see the truck will run around 200~ 210 between thermostat / fan cycles
  21. unless you have money and time to play with the truck and do all the work yourself i wouldn't waste time with it. its basically worth the cost of repairs as a whole. you would be much better off parting it out. you can buy a nice 2500 truck for a few grand in decent shape. you would probably be able to get one and still have money left over from the part out
  22. cool i was re felling it. if you have ever tried to re-fill it while its installed its a real PITA. it fills very slow in a very awkward angle. long story short i lost my hand placement and got to try it out as shampoo lol.
  23. the only blue liquid in your truck should either be windshield washer fluid or T case fluid. i will never forget what that shit looks like. took a shower with it once
