  1. X2, Your truck gives me a glimpse of what I want my truck to look like! Great job on the box, looks good for your first.
  2. Holy Macroll Batman... Thats a quick hot rod! If only we could get our SSS' to that point without sacrificing its daily usage.
  3. Definitely not the last one in that area.
  4. Good luck! If it does work out, a "How-to" would be awesome!
  5. Another one bites the dust, cool new ride. I'm considering trading in my SSS for a new 6.2L Yukon Denali or 2011 CTS-V sedan. I'm needing more room since our 2nd kid is on its way... Hate to even think about loosing my SSS!
  6. Very clean looking truck, I saw that some of those pics of your truck were taken by a good friend's, and fellow marine's, wife Cathy.

    Naming Your Ss

The wife named mine cause I spend more time with the SSS than her at times... lol She named her "La Sancha" which translates to "the other woman". Lol
  8. Yeah that's what I was thinking! I do agree with what other members above have said about the engine and drivetrain options of these trucks.
  9. One ugly "New Working-Class Bowtie" that Surfaced in Southeast Asia. Hopefully it stay's there! Check out the Motor Trend link below... Show Truck What do you think?
  10. In my opinion 160 deg stat is fine, but a 180 deg stat will do just fine. Electric fans is the way to go, I have the HPM dual fans that I picked up off this site and my temperatures dropped quite a bit. I live in West Texas where as of lately the temps are over 100 and my trucks temp stays constant at 190. The fans make a difference however, you could have air trapped in the coolant system. Do you know if it has been serviced lately? Another reason for the over heating could be a bad termostat (rarely happens) or debris in the radiator/ coolant system that can cause a blockage of flow therefore creating a higher operating temp.
  11. Semper Fi brother! Cars look great, good luck on the modding of both!
  12. Welcome to the site and the SSS family.
  13. If it's 95 out you'll be sucking hot air regardless... The other negative of the Voolant Scoop is that, if you live where it rains often then you can possibly get water in your engine through it! It's not meant for water conditions or off road neither.
  14. I do it as well as other members.
  15. Before you go and spend 400-600 for a new/ used cluster, Whats the problem? If its a "Dead" or "Sporadic" guage, it could be a simple guage motor replacement. You can buy a new motor on ebay and other sites for less than $10 bucks and all you need to replace it is: minimal electronics experience and soldering iron, solder, and a bit of patience...
  16. I agree, go TRU-COOL MAX. I just recently upgraded and in West Texas Temps in the casual 100's My tranny temp doesn't go over 150. Thats a 20-30 degree drop from the stock tranny cooler.
  17. If you read the article it states that the driver of the Bentley Azure started the whole thing...Guess who was driving...? Look at the pic, blonde female! Thats why you dont let women drive your ride!
  18. Wow, people have different takes on customization... But at least this guy upgaded his brakes after installing ridiculously over sized rims...
