  1. Guess Im the odd man out here I've got a Lincoln that will use 110/220 and will also do stick welding. Want to say its a 135 but can't remember the model number.
  2. Check your front wheel bearing/hub assembly. If that's good when was the last time you had the diff fluid changed?
  3. Good to hear man. I've not been on here in a while, and to think just last month I was in Busan.
  4. Did the Red SSS have black rims? If so it was most likely my wife. She was going up to Sam's. I would be there but I'm currently at sea. Later.
  5. US Army 85-88 95B Military Police. Now work as a Civil Servant for the Navy. 11 Years running.
  6. I have a very similar setup on my Vette. Instead of the flowmasters I have Borla bullets with downward dumps about 18" after the exit of the bullets. Talk about loud! I have a friend that lives about a mile away as the crow flies, says he can hear it when I start it up.
  7. True, but the clutch is still in the same place. That guy is just a buffoon. The tech isn't much better. I'm not sure but I know on my '96 there is a switch on the dash that turns off the Traction Control. I'm pretty sure that a new Z06 has the same type feature. You can almost hear the computer screaming, trying to limit the wheel spin. It does it three ways, first it applies the brakes, second it cuts the spark intermittently, and third it cuts fuel. Hope that moron is happy parting with his money. The clutch will cost him more than the $600 tires.
  8. The factory fog lights were NOT an option on the SS. You can buy the kit from a dealer, but you will have to fab some mounting brackets, or find a place to install them. I've seen the kits with everything, lights, wiring, switch for around $200.
  9. I think mine is the same location. Don't have e-fans but I mounted mine to the underside of the radiator support. It is two pieces, there are three 10mm bolts holding each side together. I removed two on each side and used the brackets that came with the HID's. Mounted two to each side (Hi and Low beam) didn't have to drill any holes and the ballasts are alomost completely hidden, and well secured. Don't know if it will work for fog lights, might not be enough wire to reach where the fogs are.
  10. I occasionally pull my 16ft flat bed trailer hauling the Corvette up to the mountains of NC. I get around 9-10 MPG towing at 70-75. Pulls real good hardly even notice anything is back there.
  11. I've got the same set up but with 5000K bulbs hi and low with the diode mod. I've had mine for over a year now. Never knew or noticed that the bulbs have changed color. Only problem I've had is I had to replace the ballasts for the low beams (one burnt out.) Went with the 55W slim ballasts. I like th eslim ballasts more, they are considerably smaller which gives you more mounting options. I still use the location I originally put the ballasts in, in a bracket hanging from the radiator support brace. Removed one 10mm bolt installed the bracket and reinstalled the bolt. Hides the ballast nicely and I didn't have to drill any holes. Mr.P is right the difference is awesome. Even with the low beams only, but with the highs I can see anything.
  12. The 6000K HIDs are closer to stock color. Stock is actually about 4300K. The 10000 or 12000K ones will have a more purple tint to them. Depending on your state the 10000 or 12000K HIDs may be enough to warrant trouble from the PoPo. Also the blue /purple tint to the lights will make night driving more difficult, the light tends to blend in with the night causing you eyes to work harder during extended driving.
  13. Nice! Welcome to the club. That was one of the more rare colors. I've got a '96 LT4 Collector Edition.
  14. Ode de la Mer That's what I was thinking when I first read the topic. I've used a Cinnimon broom still in the bag. Just put it under the rear seat. A couple of days later you have to take it out 'cos it will overpower you. They last months. find them at the grocery especially around the holidays.
  15. What are the center caps made of? Aluminum? Wondering about getting them powder coated black also is the reason I ask.
  16. Some pretty good information there. Although I did find one error, Iced tea. Two cookbooks, "Buckeye Cookbook" published in 1876, and "Housekeeping in Old Virgina" published in 1877 had recipies for Iced tea. Also it was common to see Iced tea during the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. One tidbit of info The US started construction of the Panama Canal in 1905.
  17. Welcome to the site! I used to live in Charleston myself, still go back once or twice a year (parents still live there.) I've not had any problems with spinning the tires with the 4.10s, but then again I'm mostly stock and AWD. I pretty much average about 16 MPG, maybe a little more. I do have a BlackBear tune, CAI, and cat back. Before the tune I got around 15 MPG. The tune was the best money spent, more power, pickup, and MPG. One option on the '06 model is the power moon roof, which a lot have had problems with. I've found that over the years KBB always seems to be a little high, not much but a little, especially when trading a vehicle in. Private resale it spretty much on. I think this is because most shoppers get an idea of prices using KBB, so you can pretty much get that price. GL on the search.
  18. Well Im still at sea but the wife has been hanging out at the Treasure Bay parking lot with a bunch of Corvette friends. She says that she has seen a couple of older 454SS's but she is the only SilveradoSS out there, and of course the only RED one. Where yall at?
  19. Good luck with the Massage. Opt for the happy ending! LOL
  20. That's funny right there, I don't care who you are. Actually I think I know that guy, I think he works with my Dad. Is he currently from Charleston?
  21. Wife was sighted by a Black SS on I-10 Eastbound. They flashed headlights. She gave thumbs up. They had Bama tags.
  22. That's pretty funny I'm still out here on the I'm sure my wife can find that old reservoir. It's under the house somewhere.
  23. The tinted front windshield on '04 and up had the extended part in the middle that comes down at the rear view mirror (where the fold down visors dont cover.) Found this out today when I got the widow replaced, got the '04 model. Pretty sure all SS's had the LQ9 (higher compression, higher output.)
  24. Dude I thought mine went bad on me, went to the dealer and ordered one. It was like $26. When I pulled the ole one out found out that one of the hoses behind the battery was busted. Anyway I've got a "nearly new" one if you want it. You can pick it up during Crusin the Coast if you are over this way. PM me and I'll give you the contact details.
  25. Welcome home Man! KY ain't a bad place to be, my buddy is from Owensboro.
