Great mod! I was going to do this the other method until I came across this one. This one seems like a cleaner method. Thanks!

You will be fine with travel at 7" with a bolt-in notch, but do the 7" with flip kit and drop shackles. Use the stock hangers to avoid problems with your pinion angle. Also, the DJM notch is the worst design compared to Belltech and McGaughy's. The notch is just a cover plate with reinforcement around the notch cutout, while the McG notch wraps around the bottom of the frame, and the Belltech notch completely boxes the frame. You will also need to make sure the offset on your rims is high enough or they will rub the fender lip.

Sweet man, I got mine in yesterday. I'll be sure to send another 5 bucks your way. Thanks!

I haven't heard anything bad happen with this setup? I've been running it since I bought my 05 Silverado new, it was the first thing I did to it.

Money sent.

Looking good man.

These are some very nice headers. Good luck with the sale. Out of curiosity, are you stepping up to 3" collectors or just want something different?

Put me down for a polished/machined one. Let me know when to pay up.

Vette Servo Vs Billet Servo, 4th Billet Servo
evallejo replied to evallejo's topic in AWD, Differential, & Transmission Tech
Cool, thanks. I'm gonna go with the vette servo, 4th billet, and transgo shift kit. And a tune of course. -
As far as the 1-2 servo goes, I have been told that the billet servo is overkill for a stock 4l60e. Shifts too harsh and will start breaking stuff, etc. I have been told the vette servo will suffice. I have also been told that the 4th billet servo is a waste of money for my stock tranny, and that I won't be able to feel it. I do plan on installing both servos and a shift kit, and replacing the plastic 1-2 and fwd accumulator pistons with aluminum ones. I'm just not sure on which servos yet, and I don't want to rebuild my transmission for a good while. Would you guys care to provide some insight?

Or you could just grind the nut down after cutting off the excess balljoint. Also if you have the stock nut, you can cut off the washer attached to the nut, and reinstall it (backwards if needed).
-
That kit will work perfectly fine. I would actually prefer Mcg over Belltech spindles IMO. My turning radius decreased noticabley with Mcgaughy's Spindles though, and I use Doetsch Tech shocks out back. They have a reputation for being stiff.

Bump for a nice lid.

Yeah the Belltech is the best bolt-on notch IMO. If I'm not mistaken, it comes with two pieces to wrap all the way around the frame. Or you can do a weld-on notch, but that Belltech should be good enough.

I would go with Mcgaughy's spindles and springs, unless you don't have a coil suspension, and McG/Belltech / DJM Flip kit in the rear with a 1 inch shackle. And you might be able to get away with the same shocks in front and get a decent ride, but you'll def. need new shocks for the rear.
