Hey everyone. So I could really use some assistance on this one. I am finally about to put my chrome rims back on after about 2 years and lets just say they were pretty nasty looking. They had these green spots all over them which I am guessing it was from the winter. I meant to go over to my aunt's house where they were stored but never had time and had to clean them. I have no before pics but today I tried to clean the mess out of them with eagle 1 chrome cleaner, soap and water, and the put some chrome polish on them and this is what I am left with: Is there anything I could do to restore these rims back? Now these are GM aftermarket 20s which I am guessing isn't the best chrome in the world but would like to get them back to OEM if possible.

So I just picked up a case of this stuff from amosil fellas: Signature Series Oil 0w-30 I wanted to know if anyone has used this stuff before. I normally run the 5W-30 and it is good stuff but figure I give this stuff a try.

I have been running AMSOIL for a while now and love it.

Washing Your Truck During The Winter Months.
96vteccd5 replied to 96vteccd5's topic in Appearance, Cleaning, & Detailing
Well remind me to slap the shit out of a friend of mine. He recommended a car wash to me that he said he has never had any issue with and never messed up his paint....well now I got small little nicks on my truck. I should've listen to my gut and never bothered with it but no I had to listen to him. So piss I wonder how much a respray of the truck would cost. Probably not even worth it. I need a drink Granted the truck does need a paint job but I didn't need anything to speed up the damn processes. -

I may have to look into this when things warm up. Thanks for the info. -
I figure what better place to ask this question then on the SS forum. Now I already know that you should wash your vehicle during the winter months because you do not want to leave the salt and snow on the vehicle for prolong period of time. But my question is for those of us that love to wash our vehicles by hand what do you do. I hate taking my truck to car washes that have this huge belts or whatever that are hanging down. Since I just recently bought a house I know your suppose to turn off the water to your outside spigot. If we ever finally get a day above 32 degrees, do you think it would be safe if I turn the water on to my outside spigot just to wash the cars for that day? Since I am new to this single family home ownership I was wondering what everyone else does. Specially my folks out midwest who get snow all the damn time.

All I can say is the needle kept on going and so did I and never hit 4th. My accord has 140 on the dash and put the needle past that also but I was shook in the truck.

I wish my garage was big enough to put my truck in

What is going on people. So today I woke up this morning and decided to seafoam the truck. 88K right now so I figure what the hell, go for it. I suck it through the brake booster line only half a red cup :o) Sucked it through and the truck idled funny then eventually stalled it out. Let it sit for about 30 mins and he started right up. Then comes the nice big cloud of smoke. It smoked for about 8 mins then I shut it for a little while longer. Went for a drive and decided to hit it on the highway. Lets just say people slowed down for a bit but eventually cleaned everything out. Now fowled plugs or anything. FYI....I run 93 octane (wheatley tune) and amsoil motor oil. Motor felt stronger and glad I finally got around to it. The other half went into the fuel tank. I will buy another bottle when it comes closer to change the oil and pour some in the crankcase next time and the other half through the brake line again.

Wow I never would've guessed that the tranny was in the rear of the car. Better weight distribution. -

Shift Kit Installed ..What A Difference
96vteccd5 replied to 96vteccd5's topic in AWD, Differential, & Transmission Tech
I got the transgo kit for $100 bucks from a member here and the rest of the parts where a combination of ebay and oregonperformancetransmission. I managed to find the items from oregonperformance on ebay as well and I think I paid a total of $250 - $300 in parts for everything. Wix filter came from amsoil and and the 160 degree stat came from jeggs.
