  1. I would not consider an engine swap from an LQ9 (like the SSS comes with stock) to an LS2 a "real heavy mod" because they're basically the same motor casting. However, I realize that you're not really talking about modding an SS/VHO/VMAX, it sounds like you're talking about putting a nice motor/tranny combo in your monte. If so, good luck and hope it works out well, should get loads of power out of that thing! If I'm wrong and you are talking about doing this swap in an SS let us know so we can help you out better!! Na the monte is on its way out, what i really want to do is have an SSS and put in a manual tranny. I'm new with the LQ9 didn't know if somethin like a tremec would bolt up to it. from reading a bit more, power isn't hard to get outa the LQ9 either. but yea i'll look into kellyperformance. My ideal set up would be headers/exhaust, intake, tuned, cam and/or supercharger, sway bars stuff like that, and a manual tranny. I got big eyes and a smaller budget but i'll be starting a job soon.
  2. Has anyone done a real heavy mod like put the LS2 with the tremec 6 speed into thier trucks. Would the tranny hold up? This monte i have right now, you can only get them automatic like many chevy vehicles, and i would looove a 5 or 6 speed in that thing. I gotta buddy who has an 88 regular cab short box 350ci chevy thats standard and that thing hauls ass... and you can shift! Has anyone put a standard in their silverado? if so how much/difficult is it to do?
  3. I'm from Syracuse, go to school at Clarkson University finishing up a construction management degree. I'm movin down to Baltimore in Feb. I put an album up titled "Nick's Toys," I'll get the pics of the 65 chevelle on there when i can resize them down a bit. My Monte is not an SS (couldn't afford it at the start), but put on some Dynomax mufflers got rid of the u-bend right before the cat ( stupid bend in the pipe so the O2 sensor can be verticle), fenderwall intake, wires, plugs, and a DHP reprogrammed PCM. It actually was quicker than my buddies SS, but his wasn't the supercharged one...I woulda gotten blown away by one of those. The chevelle is a frame up restoration with a 327 crate engine, 4 speed, ladder bars, a real nice cruiser, black with white leather interior. I'll definitely get some of those on here. So here's a question, when did they make the change from AWD to RWD? I thought it was either 05 or 06. Which do you guys prefer? I know I would want the AWD because of the winters.

  5. Hello all, I'm graduating from college in December and salivating over the Silverado SS I want to buy in the coming months. I've got an '03 Monte Carlo right now that I've mod'ed but just hasn't been cutting it since I bought it. College kids just are poor though and can't afford it all though haha. Anyways I'm gonna be on this site hearin what all you guys (and girls if there are any) have to say about the SS and how to build it up. If any of you have a blue or red SS for sale lemme know!
